Every Atelier trilogy(Iris, Mysterious, Ryza, etc.) stands on its own, so I think you can safely start with this one, since I would not be surprised if it was the start of a trilogy.

Installment and Instalment are both correct. It is just a matter of whether it is English (US) or English (UK). But overall, almost everyone prefer using Installment over the latter.

If you're asking why this artiller game doesn't have an english stub, well, I can answer that for you. It's because majority of the people that are making the game or the higher ups don't want to shell out that much money flr localization. Hence why the last english dub was in 2015
