We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls! The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls were easily taken down and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.

Hi! Another fine video of Vince and Maddi . . . and Arthur! Is Arthur a Relative? Or a Friend? I certainly enjoyed watching you-all "climb around the rafters," putting up Fermacell and making the place look more like a "home!" You said in one of your responses that you would not be sleeping in the "new house" until all the dusty work is completed. Does that mean that you will be working on completing the floors before you sleep there? That will probably be a "MAJOR" job as well. But, you are looming towards the finish line! And I want to be able to watch with great interest every step of the way! Enjoy your days! I am in Florida and have just experienced the HUGE hurricane - Idalia - that hit Florida, and Georgia and is still raising Holy Hell in other states along its path back to the Atlantic! I'm holding a good thought that we will have no more hurricanes in Florida for the rest of the Hurricane Season (the season ends on November 30th). We have many days yet to live through! Encontré su canal hace un par de semanas y desde entonces no he podido parar de ver episodio tras episodio desde el comienzo. Es hermoso ver los avances, la cantidad de trabajo duro que le han puesto a este proyecto, la humildad y la transparencia con la que intentan, se equivocan, aprenden y comparten todo el proceso. Exact, il sert à isoler la maison de l'humidité pouvant venir du terrain derrière le mur de soutènement. C est une pratique courante ici en Italie !

Hi! We couldn't find any exact information about the date the house was built, some people in the village are saying it could be around 200 years old. The house was first built as a summer house, where the owner would bring their animals during summer, cultivating the land and collecting fruits from the orchards!

Let me comment ( advice) on your camera installation. You put solar panel beneath the camera which may affect the picture when the camera is moving. The solar panel may cover some percentage of a frame. You, any way , will see it at it start to work. The camera itself has to be covered in the hood. Mean has to bee fitted to work outdoor.

Merci! ☺️ Normalement, l'enduit devrait blanchir en quelques semaines et sa couleur devrait devenir la même que sur les autres murs, mais il est vrai que je l'ai trouvé très jaunit dans le seau, ce qui est dû au tanin de la chènevotte à priori! Je garde un oeil dessus pour observer l'évolution de la teinte et vous tient informé 😉

Top tip.....over winter get a few kilos of general fertiliser and distribute it around.....boost the growth of vegetation (Australian trees/shrubs would do well in this environment...plant Eucalyptus trees if you want shade quickly....there are an estimated 600 varieties for every climactic condition...in particular DRY conditions.

Don't fertilze, it will decrease biodiversity by promoting nitrogen loving fast growing species. Save the slow growing herbs that prefer less nutrients and often are very pretty species with lovely flowers. Eucalyptus is not an indigenous species to the region, is depleting natural soil fertility and prone to burn. Go for the local tree species! Eucalyptus is a pest in the Mediterranean region. It is indigenous in Australia, Koala food...but not in Southern Europe

I dont understand that storrage space at all. It will serve as a place hard to dust off, with a shelf for dust over the kitchen. Had you build it out to the edge you would have a better and more clean space. Storage space that is insulated with a whole.. and at the moment no door.. it will be hard to get to when you get older. Meanwhile it could have been an alcove on a meassnine for when your kids gets older, or you have visit. Well now you know how to put it up so I guess you can always remodel everything when your needs changes. 😊 If you are going to live and work in italy.. are you going to start learning italian soon?
