I've followed this case from the beginning and aside from all the evidence, testimonies, and facts that both sides have presented. What stands out to me the most is behavior, normal vs what is not normal behavior in a scenario. Every live cop show televised in every state in the U.S. has shown when one of their own (another cop) is down or found dead, the whole police dept. is rushing to the scene ready to pounce. Their main objective is to catch the person or persons whoever did this asap. Emotions and adrenaline are running high with all the law enforcement involved because it's one of their own. Up on finding policeman John O'Keefe, the whole scene and behavior is in fact what caught my interest because it was so not normal, I first thought what the hell and just started watching it. The only normal behavior was Karen Read. She seemed to be the only one with a sense of urgency doing anything along with being hysterical because she loved the guy. Her behavior was normal, typical for what you'd expect to see in that situation. I kept thinking why is their only 2 or 3 cop cars, where's the rest of the police dept, why aren't more cops showing up frantic to nail the killer. Then I remembered the lady that called 911 she reported a man in the snow. This was the first video I had watched in this case. Later I found out the 911 caller knew the man in the snow AND knew he was a policeman, and her sister who was married to a cop lived in the house where this policeman John was found dead in their front yard. And the whole time I was watching I was thinking, why haven't they come out to help yet. Out of the house. The whole scene, the few cops there, the behavior of the 911 caller describing man in the snow instead of saying a policeman in the snow. Right off the bat I thought, this just doesn't happen this way. The way everyone but Karen was acting, you'd have thought they found an alien in that front yard instead of a policeman or one of their own.

Karen was hurt that she was the primary caretaker of John’s neice and nephew and then he pulled that crap on New years then she found him hugging another woman. Clearly she was just looking for some validation from Higgins and he immediately went into asking if she wanted a relationship basically. She loved John but it was a lot for her especially since they weren’t married and she was surrounded by married people. None of that has any relavsnce to the incident and it certainly isn’t a reflection of Karen’s personality. She was feeling insecure in her relationship and was sadly looking for validation from Higgins and wasn’t expecting him to be like ok so do you want to be a couple.

The only good thing about this judge, is she’ll make it very easy to get a new hearing if needed. The fact she’s allowing a trial when FBI is still investigating, tied defenses hands numerous times helped common wealth with their hiding evidence for so long. Karen is outside thinking John will come out. Jen is making phony texts to him, but she never texts Karen, although she sees her outside. The plan to frame her begins, because they all agree in their drunken stupor that she deserves this. They put John where Karen's car was last seen. Jen is the queen of lies and the creator of the first plan to out Karen in front of John, for her own benefit. The dog goes with Alberts daughter because Brian A doesn't want her barking when the body is found. He can say they slept through it.. But you must remember, had Karen never played with fire by contacting Higgins, who she rightfully thought was attracted to her. John would be alive today! She does have some responsibility, it was an immoral deed for attention that ended in tragedy.

We will never know exactly why but John almost immediately walking into the Albert’s got attacked by dog and 2-3 men. He’s a police officer so he’s not going to go down easy. They pulled his unconscious body through the basement out the bulkhead and to the curb by his belt which is why the belt was never found. Cuz their DNA would be all over it. He had multiple skull fractures which would indicate multiple blows and his eyes and nose were beaten to the point his eyes couldn’t be seen. He also had a laceration on the back of his head. A car backing into a person can not creat those injuries. It’s physically impossible. Mr. Higgins is very tall and I am wondering how she alone kissed him. How’s that possible? He sounds pretty upset about Karen not texting him any further then being at the bar with him had to have stung. If he was a good friend to John he wouldn’t be trying to get into a relationship with her. He was a guy and she is out of his league.

I’m not judging anyone .. especially not in sad situation like this …Karen never wanted kids, and John probably doesn’t care to be a dad either ( at 46 he didn’t have any child of his own). I have a feeling that both Karen and the cops and their families played some part in John's death. The cover-up seems to be real, but it is not clear what exactly they have been covering up. And Karen's impulsivity and emotional instability, couple with her being p*** off with John and being drink indicate that she her Lexus did possibly made a contact with John, but not-fatally. His extensive injuries are probably due to the dog clawing at him, which the locals witnessed from the house and then tried to cover up their part in the eventual sad outcome. She is the court reporter! It’s called a Stenomask.They speak directly into the mask. I believe all info gets translated from voice to text. It’s also blocks out any background noise ! No one can hear what she is saying.

As far as I know, that is basically a microphone (insulated from the outside by that face-fitting "muzzle") into which she repeats everything said in the court. The "muzzled" lady is a court reporter, and this method or recording is an alternative to the more traditional stenography.
