Speaking to Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association on Thursday, Carl Kerby insisted it wasn't infeasible for the giant reptilian creatures to have been on Noah's Ark... Mrgdpw Most of the christians I know, actually all that I know personally, take bible stories as metaphores...of course they cherry pick Jesus miracles, his resurrection... In a way, it feels better, because you don't feel surrounded by total fools. In another way it's worse, because when you have those as excuses is much harder to get to a point in debates.

PurpleStratocaster But Evolution IS fact. Whether or not they concede it is irrelevant. To think that working out there was 125,000 animals on the Ark somehow validates the story is patently absurd, and grossly ignores what we KNOW to be true about our planet. It's been *_billions_* of years since the total species count on Earth was only 125,000. And even then, not one of them would have been land animals. It boggles my mind that creationists actually think they can justify this creationists story when it's in direct conflict with what we know about our universe. It's literally like _knowing_ the Earth revolves around the Sun but still believing the reverse is true.

***** Considering dinosaurs were first discovered (by humans) less than 2 hundred years ago, I'd call that rather, inconvenient. Jeez, these same types just 30-40 years ago denied the very existence of dinosaurs with a condescending smirk and a "how do you know, you weren't there" rebuttal...a rebuttal I've learned to embrace and enjoy... let's see here then, with that argument.... Never forget Nicolas Copernicus and Galileo Galilei, I say. They are the Poster Icons for the religious war upon science...and the True Beauty of it is, and will always be, They (Nick & Galileo) were Right. When it comes to true progress of human understanding of, in the words of Douglas Adams, "Life, The Universe And Everything" science always leads the way...leaving religion to suck the hind tit...then they whine about it by way of attack. Not too friendly, those holy folks. In short, as I mentioned earlier they simply cave...guess their kid's questions got the best of them...those parents, that is.

@@ChoppingtonOtter putting a man on the moon isn't an achieve ment. We did it out of competition not willingness to explore other celestial bodies. The footage streamed on live tv wasn't even the real footage of the moon landing. They didn't even tape it. I'm not saying they didn't go to the moon I'm saying they did go but didn't film because they already knew about the hundreds of cases of encounters with ufos and extraterrestrial vehicles. There was no doubt that there was a risk of one being seen by the whole world and that's the last thing they would have wanted to happen. I'm not staying this from a stupid belief like religious people. I'm speaking from experience. I've had sightings myself. Search CE5 innitiative on KZbin by Dr Steven greer. It's a protocol where you initiate peaceful contact with ETs. They are 100% peaceful and friendly. Some of the footage captured is incredible. Religion is a distraction as is the entertainment industry and the media. Keep people fat, keep people dumb, keep people happy and they won't ask questions.

The writers of the Bible didn't even know how many animals existed on Earth. Hell, they didn't even know the Earth was spherical. It's no surprise they came up with such a silly book.

No, actually an old Jewish mythology says that the Earth was flat, with a dome over it. The "underworld" was below it and the heavens were above the dome. That was the old testament though. Gospels weren't written by Greeks, except for the gospel of Luke. The same author wrote the Acts. I'm not certain about the other books tho. It's true that Greek mathematicians knew, that the Earth was "round" but it wasn't common knowledge and it wasn't accepted in the whole Roman Empire.

Here's a thing a lot of people don't seem to consider. You'd need to take marine creatures on the ark as well, because if the Earth is flooded then the water would not be able to support all living marine creatures. Some can only live in fresh water, others could only live in salt water. If the world is flooded with fresh water then all the salt water species would die and you'd need to take them on the ark. If the world flooded with salt water then all the fresh water species would have to be preserved.

The bible specifically says "Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth" which implies taking animals of sexual maturity. So yes you would need big dinosaurs

Nope, they will still be able to reproduce after they leave the ark. They don't have to be sexually mature while on the ark. It would make more sense for them to reproduce later on.

​@@sourlemon3337 They could easily carry eggs on the ark versus having a giant dinosaur. There are only 700 species of dinosaurs, many speculate that it's actually far less. Many species named were actually just more distinctly grown dinosaurs. There's a whole TEDx video on it. Many paleontologist wanted to get their name put on dinosaur bone discoveries so they insisted on them being new species.

@@rs72098 yes currently there is only 700 named non-avian dinosaurs. But fossilisation is rare and many were probably lost. Dinosaurs have existed since the Triassic, more than 200 million years ago. There must have been hundreds of thousands of species of dinosaurs in that time. Keep in mind there are around 10,000 species of bird around today (birds are the last surviving dinosaurs)

Ok so they took the small ones. The ark was afloat for a year. Animals grow very large in a year so how come the ark didn't then get overcrowded? How did they get rid of all the waste through one small window? How did they keep the meat stored for a year so the carnivores could eat? Where did they store all the drinking water as the flood waters would have mixed with the sea making the flood water undrinkable? Do people really believe this fairy story?

Why question God and what he can do! What Noah couldn't do GOD Almighty took care of. And that's what people are forgetting this is GOD'S doing not man or science. There's Know science or logic when God wants to get something done. But this is expected for unbelivers who do not believe in our creator/higher power; and his greatest (supernatural)! So more than likely....all the supernatural acts are unbeleaving as well. I am pretty sure there are videos of unbeleivers trying to explain how the red sea seperated for God's people.....and the unbeleaving Eygyptain was taking over by the water but God's people were saved! When you become a true believer of God.....u will doubt him and what he can do less and less!!!!!!!! When you see miracles that he has done in your life thats unexplainable... You will start believing him and what he can do. Read the Holy striptures of Paul's life ( on the Road to Damascus) he was an unbeliever but his was radically changed and transform by God and from God!!!!

God created all things. And he is a Supernatual Miracle worker! All Noah had to do was believe and be obedient; GOD took care of the rest. GOD the creater overrides science. Well 200 years would be nice, but based on population dynamics - the large percentage of either uninformed, uneducated, hopelessly indoctrinated, poor (who tend to be much more religious out of either lack of education and ignorance), and those who understand science but for social reasons are unwilling to leave a religion, I think it'll take many generations to turn the population.

Here is some math, should you choose to: the bible says it rained for 40 days and 40 nights, and that the waters covered all mountains by over 20 feet... Ok, let's throw a bone here, and not mention Mt Everest, which is 29,000 feet high... let's go with Mt Ararat, the bible standard, which according to the interwebz is 16, 854 feet high. We also know that the Earth's circumference to be 24,901 miles. So: how many gallons of water would it take to completely cover the entire world, up to 16,874 feet in depth? And, is it remotely possible, knowing what rain is, that much water would rain from the skies in 40 days? Further, is it possible that 20 feet of water would have evaporated world wide in 150 days (how long the flood lasted according to the bible) to uncover the tip of Mt Ararat?

Docktor Jim That's easy. All the water was fresh back then. Scientists have shown that the oceans are getting more salty. If you extrapolate backwards and play with the numbers, you find that, in the beginning, all water was fresh. It was only when the mountains rose up after the flood and the water level dropped that seas were formed and started becoming saline. Lakes and rivers didn't become saline because they were not as deep enough to reach the salt layers deep in the earth. The mountains and seas must have formed very fast. Otherwise the rising salinity level would have been so abrupt that the fish wouldn't have had time to adapt. I figure that all the oceans were formed and the mountains rose from a level field to where they are now in about a 200-500 year time frame after the flood. Over the next 3500 years or so, the once freshwater fish in the ocean turned into saltwater fish. Mount Ararat was really just a mound, a couple dozen feet high, at the time of disembarkation and the fossil seashells found on Mt. Everest are from freshwater creatures who died before there was any such thing as saltwater. Hope that clears things up for ya!

There is one major flaw with the Noah's Ark story. In the bible it says that the animals were brought onto the ark in pairs, one male and one female from each species. In order for an animal species to be successful and thrive, they need a certain number in their population in order to have enough genes to reproduce and grow the population. For humans, I know that that number is somewhere between 98 and 120. Keep in mind, that NONE of those people would be related in any way to each other. So the animals from Noah's Ark could never have survived for very long after finding land. Not to mention that the dinosaurs were not on the original Noah's Ark because at the time the book was written, we hadn't discovered them yet (or maybe we had and just had no idea what they were.) Oh and one more thing, the dinosaurs lived in a completely different time period.

(I can't find it or remember what it's called) The religious people he was debating said they know most of it is symbolic (even most of that was a stretch). Dawkins retorted with the fact that MOST believers take the bible as fact. he did sight a study that was done on that as well.

Because it's reasonable to accept that: (1) an aged, bronze-age farmer and his sons could build a functioning wooden boat far larger than skilled shipwrights could thousands of years later, (2) just as it's reasonable to assume that all animals lived within walking distance of Noah's house, (3)Galapagos tortoises migrated from Mt. Ararat to volcanic islands in the eastern Pacific Ocean after the flood. Three words: Stephen Island Wren, look it up; and, (4) of course its reasonable to assume that millions of cubic kilometers of freshwater and eroded sediment dumped into the world's oceans wouldn't exterminate marine species due to changes in turbidity, salinity, pH, and temperature.

When the bible was written they didn't know other continents existed. In the rain forests for example there are primates that live high in the canopy. We are still discovering new species to this day in locations previously inaccessible to man. While Noah was busy building the ark, what boat did he use to visit South America and Antarctica, and how was he able to reach treetops? We're still discovering bugs and frogs in the rain forest, teams of researchers with modern equipment. What about the humans living in the rain forest, did they get a ride on the arc too? Antarctic penguins can overheat IN ANTARCTICA when temperatures rise above FREEZING. Enough of this already.

The train car comparison for capacity was terrible. If you take the volume of the vessel described in the Bible, it does not take into consideration the volume of the wood floorings, the walls, the doorframes, and the support structure strong enough to support the animals, the staff, food, fresh water, and the structures themselves. Plus, you have to measure the initial volume from the inside of the wood vessel as the wood hull would have been significant. Because of the weight of the vessel and the contents, especially the water supply, the vessel would have been significantly low in the ocean. That means all the animal waste, urine and scat would have trips up flights of stairs. There wouldn't have be enough people to remove the waste of all those animals, let alone feed and care of the animals. It would have been dark in the animal chambers for several reasons. Did they bring on two of each fish? Were their fish tanks? Because if you flood the planet with freshwater rain, it would have desalinized the ocean and most of the salt-water fish would have died. Same with all the freshwater fish, a flood would have turned their water into salt-water and displaced them. When the water received chances are the freshwater fish that survived the salt would end up on land or the ocean and not in freshwater, if it pooled it would still be salty. It is all very ludicrous. How did they get the unique animals of Australia, the Americas, or any of the island animals? Trying to accommodate a negative hurt my brain.

Never mind simple hot and cold areas of the Ark. Noah would have to create entire habitats for some of the animals. Amphibians can't survive strictly on land for a year. He would need a pond big enough for 28 crocodiles (2 x 14 species) and 4 alligators (2 x 2 species). Plus a separate pond for 9620 frogs (assuming the frogs and crocs won't be housed together). I could go on but I think you get the point.

Actually there is a scientific answer to your question. We did come from one species, though it wasn't just two of them. It was years of evolving in different environments. We obviously have different DNA as we evolved over time to adapt to each Environment. There's a reason people in Africa, or even Australia, are dark skinned. Not the white people that came after, I'm talking about the natives. Or why Asians have a more angled, closed eye. Due to the weather they experience. Over thousands and thousands of years, we evolved to adapt, as each human species went it's own way.

There have been evidences that have suggested that humans and dinosaurs lived together. One being ancient carvings of dinosaur looking creatures on caves and rocks dating back in ancient times. Those creatures strongly resembled what we call the "dinosaur". The word "dinosaur" also wasn't invented until the 19th century. Before then, they were probably referred to as what we like to call "dragons".

Forget the Titanic man, it was made of steel and the riveting was, despite being very sturdy, questionable and failed. And even then, at least a third of the Titanic's space is taken up by the engine compartment. But then you gotta ask yourself, how'd the flood affect fish and sea mammals and dinosaurs. Did they put those in a submerged, water-tank filled deck on the ark because they would die in the oceans because of the "mixing of fresh and saltwater" like AIG likes to propose. *light bulb flashes in Ken Ham's head* "We'h gown to moyke uh paht of deh Aaahk with unduhwotah cumpaaahtmints. The titanic didn't have them crammed in like sardines. The rail records that I could google show a that 40 ft stock was legally allowed to hold 250 sheep. Which actually does mean that a ship of the dimensions given should be able to accommodate 30,000 sheep in the same manner. The 500 stock cars (and 125,000 sheep) mentioned is an exaggeration as this would assume a rectangular shape and no ballast. Food and water is another issue that the fundamentalists have an explanation for, but they are right with regards pure physical loading of 30,000 sheep.

Another very common complaint raised is the sheer amount of food as well as waste these animals would produce. The sheer amount of crap alone from that quantity of animals is apparently pretty crazy. Then of course there is the fact that predators and animals with specific dietary needs would be placed right next to each other.

You dont believe an airplane that weights 640 tons can fly?, bad for you, the Antonov An-225 flies whatever you believe.Oh! You dont believe in the laws of physics?, then try to jump off a cliff, if a heavy ass airplane can fly why wouln't you?. Of course nobody will do such thing because everyone knows that there's a lot of science involved on the fly of the Antonov, no need to preach about that, a 640 tons airplane can fly but a 75 kilograms human can not, and that wont change whatever you believe. That's how you know something is true, no need to preach about it.

8 people built the ark, cared for approximately 16,000 animals (including dinosaurs?) for one year and not one died from exhaustion or disease or animal attacks? The ark is huge! It would have taken hundreds of skilled workers months if not years to complete such a project, never mind the fact that wood doesn't work so well at that large of a ship size.
