Bill Nye made a mistake my letting Ken continually steamroll over him every time he would try to make a point. Ken keeps making up some divide in science called observational science and historical science which has been directly refuted on numerous times. Because he wants to continue decieving people with this and we know this. I shouldn't bother even trying to convince him but maybe I can get to some of his followers. Its not just evolution that refutes the bible, its mountains of evidence in every major field of study. Its why despite what ken ham says, droves of people are leaving the faith the more they understand science. Our knowledge of evolution is litterally the foundation for our knowledge of biology. This is why we have vaccines for viruses that used to kill many people each year. Science did that. Not praying to god. Viruses arent technically alive so they dont technically undergo evolution in the common sense, but the same mechanics apply. Mutations in the DNA of the virus cause changes in the virus. Thats why we need to renew our shots every so often because the virus chsnges enough to where our body doesnt recognise it anymore. Surely anyone looking can accept this right? The same things happen with bacteria which are alive. The reason antibiotic resistant superbacteria exist is because when people dont take their full prescription of a certain antibiotic, and just stop when they feel better, they leave alive the bacteria that were more resistant to that antibiotic Which lets them proliferate and now you have stronger bacteria that are more resistant to a particular drug. Now you have evidence of evolution by natural selection. Because life changes. Ive also seen ken ham make up some arbitrary divide between evolution called micro and macro evolution. Evolution is just evolution. Change is just change. The only difference is time span. Many small changes compiled atop generations leads to more differences between the parent and daughter generations. And yet he continues to put some invisible limit on how much change can occur. Dont you see thats ridiculous?
@alexanderdenney6255 Жыл бұрын
Bill nye like every other scientist starts with a question. Which is then turned into an experiment to answer the question. If this, then this, because this. His belief system is built by evidence from experiments. Whereas Kens belief system is built off "the bible told me so" which every Christian somehow conciders a 2000 year old book written by numerous people that never actually contains any timeless wisdom other that obvious ones like killing is bad. Duh killing is bad. No-one needs god to say that. The fact that god chose a book of words to communicate to people rather than a mass transmission of understanding is prove against itself alone. Written words are flawed being they're so up for interpretation. Just think about how Catholics, jews, Baptists, Mormons and jehovah witnesses all read the same book and yet if you were to put them in a conference room they would argue calling eachother wrong and claiming to have knowledge of the one true god. Words are limited in their ability to communicate, and an omniscient being could surely think of a better way. Even I can. If I had a message I wanted to convey to people, like god to the world of sinners, I would use my powers to share my understanding, my feelings, my rationale and my emotions directly to the people so they know my thought process directly. This will allow them to directly understand my entire rationale on any particular subject. Rather than a book that can be so wildly interpreted.

The creationist is trying to bring down Bill Nye whose claims all were found through science and not started through the chasing of some glamorous theory to "a belief" which is so rude to every other scientist when the creationist beliefs have no evidence and were started through faith alone. It's a disgustingly prideful action to attempt to reduce the status of a completely sound argument to creationist's own level down below in order to disprove it by saying "we have more books that have the same beliefs" so evidence doesn't play a part in the argument.
@Jar-a-tea14 күн бұрын

01:38 I can answer that with a bit more clarity, being a chemistry guy myself. The "information process" that he's talking about is essentially bonds and valence, which is dictated by the number of protons and electrons within a specific element itself. Because each element has it's own mass and 'pull' each of these elements desires completion. Carbon, for example, is a very flexible element as it can maintain a tetrahedral arrangement of bonds or very specific 'strained' bonds. This natural requirement for completion or stability is what led to these elements reacting with one another. The rest turns into a situation of 'how' things can bond and considering the primordial crucible that was the universe as it started, plenty of reactions occurred. Later, more complex elements gained better form and function based on those previous connections and also became more complex. Properties like this can easily be seen when you have something like oil and water. That same oil and water interaction is how the first lipid membranes ultimately became cellular organisms.
@dgcbarton Жыл бұрын

For over a millennia, people have turned to supernatural phenomena to explain the world around them. People praised the sun, moon, and stars as gods. Protestant Christians believed that other worlds and the sun rotated around Earth, which was a very self-centered view. In a time where religion was heavily present, people came up with a new way to think of the world. A way of questioning things through rigorous testing and proof. This was the scientific method. Galileo, the inventor of one of the first telescopes, was one of the first to challenge these beliefs. He proved that the Earth and other planets were the ones actually rotating around the sun, not the other way around. This man was way ahead of time, so far that the people of his time could not understand. As a result, he was punished; confined to his house until he died. The more we learn about the world through a logical and objective lens, the less we are inclined to blindly follow set traditions. Science in not a tradition or a religion. Its a way of thinking; method/test. Its used to prove things, explore questions, explain phenomena. Religion has failed that test. We have even gone to the moon. There is no existence of a moon god. Another problem is that what we know in science is factual. There are a lot of things we don't know and we aren't afraid to admit it. You can challenge the ideas in science, and if proven right, you will be awarded a Nobel Prize and your name will forever be embedded in history. If you want another reason to prove science's validity, then look around. The cars you drive, the houses you live in, phones, etc. I'm currently in mechanical engineering technologies and we learn about statics, strength of materials, and materials science. These are vital topics in civil engineering as well and especially in building houses/bridges. We study and analyze the forces and stresses that may be on certain structures, which are invisible entities. We don't see forces, we don't see gravity, but we have made a system that works. It has worked time and time again. You living in a safe home is the result of this. Everything around you that has been synthetically produced was the result of science. Even medicine.

Heres my testimony God gave me. I was saved Jan 28th 2023. I was 36. In 2023. I lost my uncle, dog, and neighbor all within a few weeks and I felt numb. I was so sick of this world. Sick of politics, and wanted to know why we were here if we just die and hurt each others. Whats the point. I wondered why I had never ruled out the bible as true. So I had an opportunity to visit a book store with someone because she wanted a bible. There were so many and I didn’t have the money. I later ask my dad for a bible. He found me a paper back KJV at a used store. It had Holy Bible crisscrossed both ways all other it. So I sat down and decided to read from the beginning and got to the flood. I could t get past it. I kept trying to fill the bible into mans version of history. I probably read up to the flood 3 or 4 times. One day looking out my dinning room window with my chin on the chair I started to cry about everyone dying, world seemed evil, life wasn’t going anywhere and I was sick of it. I felt a choice pop up. A urge for truth and answers. I looked up to the ceiling and asked God if heaven was real could I go because I hated it here. That same night God put a sin on my heart. One of those secret sins you don’t want anyone to know. Somehow I knew again I had a choice. So as my fiancé was sleeping beside me snoring, I decided to try to pray. I didn’t know if I should say God or Jesus….so I said both. I knew I was going to sound childish, I didn’t really know how to pray. I didn’t grow up going to church or reading the bible. We did some holidays, but it was more tradition. It was like I was not just praying but walking through why I had commit the sin to myself. Like God wanted to walk me through it mentally. I told him I was a murderer. I had killed my baby in me. I was scared of not being married and I drank caffeine and put a heating pad on me. I was so ashamed and tears slowly and quietly rain down my face. I told him I wanted the baby and I knew it was a gift made out of love and I took that away from my fiancé. Then Wham! A huge lifting feeling came off of me….I didnt know where it was coming from, so I tried to pin point it. Was this my mind…am I crazy. No not my mind. Was this my body? No it wasn’t coming from my body. It wasn’t coming from me!!! I started to embarrass the feeling of lightness and along with the feeling was excitement and joy. Like christmas morning or like a kid waiting for a family trip, but times 10. I then knew something! This means 1 God is real, 2 The bible can be trusted, 3 Which means Jesus is who he proclaimed to be! He is the son of God, God in flesh. The next day that feeling was still there and it felt like I was like a feather! Like gravity didnt exist. It did go away, but the memory is forever with me. Ever since Then Jesus has taught me to hear and follow him. He reveals when he heals. He got me to be brave to ask for forgiveness to my fiancé and start fresh. So much I could go on. More Love for Israel and jewish people. I admired them before, but now its a love. He has showed me people to listen too and follow most messianic believers like zola Levitt and Ray comfort, Zev Porat..etc. God has even graced my fiancé and I with a wedding. Now I have read from Genesis through to Luke. I feel like Im in school learning and that I know this amazing treasure. And sometimes God convicts me to share or to help others and to be patient. Exactly. Ken had a very selfish way of thinking I would argue. He only cared for himself and the individual in that argument. Many things we do in our life period is for the future generation to experience and to use in their time of life. To experience everything that life can make you experience (ex: love) - which is just wonderful, right? "What you feel, is a matter of evolution." Let's take that to its logical endpoint; All of your feelings about what's right or wrong, truth or fiction, logic, reason, wisdom, are survival mechanisms or pleasure seeking activities that have nothing to do with any objective truth, from an atheist perspective. There are no objective morals. Love is just a chemical reaction and all people are animals. Seeing people murder one another on the street should only concern the atheist so much as if they are in immediate danger from it or not. Hitting someone on the road should only be as concerning to them as hitting a squirrel, legal repercussions aside. Relationships are purely based on what they can extract from others to secure their own comforts as there are no objective morals, only survival and pleasure. And the funny thing is we can actually observe this in real time. Secular society thinks mankind is a disease and population should be reduced (Just not them, of course). They make excuses lumping people into racial groups to either extract benefits from them or secure their own position. There is no remorse at the death of people they don't like, even joy, mockery and spite at the idea of someone they dislike dying. Not only do they engage in these things, they DELIGHT in it. Like a thief getting a thrill from stealing or a bully taking down someone else, they don't treat it as simply an expected action like a cat hunting a bird or a cow eating grass. But they specifically enjoy the evil actions of rebellion against god because it feels GOOD to them, giving in to Sin. One does not "evolve" an emotional enjoyment from destructive societal behaviors. But, some people realize this and feel genuine remorse. They know in their hearts what is wrong and what some revel in, others despair not knowing why. Our conscience is god given and will accuse us on the day of judgement. Some good people still borrow moralities and lessons from god, without knowing the origin. If someone brought them the gospel, they may be amazed to have found the source and embrace it. But the majority have and always will delight in sin.
