Well that would make sense. TVS iCube was built be to be a family scooter. It's conventional, it's simple to look at, it's functional and it's big for a family. Ather Rizta followed it the footsteps because this is also a family scooter.

Loved the rear end. Hate the front end. And it still has the ergonomic issue that the 450 has - The handlebar isn't high enough. Was really looking forward to this but I need more research before I consider replacing my 450X.

If you do so much research, how you had end up buying 450x and regretting now? BTW what's your experience with suspension setup on 450 with and without pillion, especially undulations and speed breakers? Will the scooter throw away the rider?

@@manoharmeka999 I don't regret buying or owning the Gen 2 X. It was the best electric scooter when I bought it. For a 6'1", 100 kg rider like myself, you start noticing a few issues. The scooter is sporty, so ride comfort isn't a priority in the X. So it's pretty stiff with or without a pillion. There's not much space for a regular sized pillion too, especially with me riding. It won't throw away the rider, but it will try to shake your fillings out on rough roads. I use it for short distances and grocery runs while using my VStrom SX for travelling further.

@@manoharmeka999 Hi. There wasn't any options in Goa when I bought the 450X and I do not regret buying it. That handlebar thing just irks me. Plus my wife and I did not like the Ola S1 Pro's incline start and throttle disconnection upon applying the brakes. At 6'1", I just about fit the Ather with an inch and a half between my knees and the front apron. So for now it will suffice. The Ather is a sporty scooter, so doesn't do well on bumpy roads but it won't go so far as throwing the rider off it's seat unless the rider is a fool.

Finally a Family Electric scooter.. I appreciate they kept body mountains motor. Unlike Qube & S1 which has hub motor, which is susceptible to water ingress, as most of indian city roads are in bad condition during monsoon.

I took a test drive today of Rizta. It's comfortable, has a touchscreen and good family. Magic twist seemed to be a gimmick. I tested 2.9KW Z variant.

Rishta, inspired by iQube, lacks rear disc brakes, forced regen renamed as "magic twist", whereas Ola gave it without such name. Also the 34L boot in Ola is flat, here it is curved.

Practically just the second The design change is done after 340 series ..340 is basically a 450 series with 65km range..I own 450 1.5 gen as of now have done only 21k.kms in the last 4.5 years. Visited service center only 4-5 times in the last 4.5 years.

My Initial expressions Good: 1. Two tone colours 2. Practicality 3. Fit & finish looks good 4. AntiSkid safety feature 5. Ather network Not so Good: 1. Awkward rear overhang design 2. Large seat means 3-4 riders can be accommodated easily which is common in India. Its too long. 3. Small wheels and drum brakes in the rear. 4. If this is meant for indian families, the price is too high for the top variant who want higher range (₹1.60 lakhs+ for on road) 5. Halo helmets don't make sense for indian families. Basically its a distraction. Introducing more safety technologies on a family scooter is always welcome rather than more connectivity features...

Honestly i did not like the rear design. Rear section pushing back a lot. That would definitely stress the vehicle lot when you ride it on an uphill road with a regular sized pillion..

Looks good but hope they have cleared the battery charging issue that is there in some of the 450X scooters. Definitely not worth buying the helmets both in terms of cost and health perspective as we all are already exposed to a lot of radiation in our daily life at the office and home with the use of Wi-Fi, Mobile phones, Head phones, LED TV's and lights etc🙏🙏

I expected more from Ather Energy as their USP was practicality meets design. Here, I don't see either. Ergonomically the scooter lacks the basics and the design; let's not go there. It's like iQube and Ather had a baby, but the baby's not cute at all! Let's understand one-thing if you want to sustain in India, Design and Practicality is MUST. As a product designer, it's a shame too see that a company that has such an amazing product like AtherS and Ather 450X has a trashy approach for a family EV scooter
