Thank you for making the process of atheroma formation clear to understand given the complexity of the process. Awesome!

Describe the steps of atheroma formation pleaseeee help with this question

1:51 - This is "atherosclerosis"!!!

i am still so confused...Is the endothelium damaged because plaque grow and raptures it or plaque starts to form after the damage of the endothelium????
@TacticalDraws6 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure this starts to form after the damage

Plaque starts to form after the damage to the endothelium
@saiyemiftekhar99934 жыл бұрын
Plaque starts to form after the endothelium is damaged. The reasons for endothelium damage are many including smoking, abnormal metabolism, bacterial or viral infection, oxidative stress through abnormal regulation of reactive oxygen species, hypoxia, turbulent blood flow and shear stress. I hope that helps.

Exactly. This point isn't clear. Does the endothelium rupture because of the ldl particles, or is the endothelium ruptured prior causing ldl particles to accumulate between the endothelium and the intima?
@markaguilera4933 жыл бұрын
@@saiyemiftekhar9993 So that means ldl is not causal in the formation of atheroma. It is just correlated and the sign of prior damage.

Healthy diet (low sugar & and good fats), eat fresh vegetables and avoid processed foods (especially those with trans-fats and high sodium), exercise, loss weight (if overweight), no smoking, limit alcohol intake, well controlled blood pressure.
