@Siren1000T1 Yes, it was ATI's answer to Federal's DSA, which is no longer produced in favor of the HPSS-16/32s. The DSA-like sirens in Dumas have ATI control boxes, which strangely also favor Federal products...
@kdksiren12 жыл бұрын
We thought it as a Federal DSA. However, as posted elsewhere in the comments here, we have talked to the Dumas EM Director. He bought them years ago from ATI. When they need parts/ repair, he contacts ATI. So going on that, it, along with the 2 -3 other ones there they are ATI. But, they have lots of Federal mechanical sirens there too.

I like the 2T22. This long blasts reminds me of the time that Texas Tech's siren got stuck one night when the Tech PD dispatcher hit the button by accident. It ran for about 45 min. before someone got it to shut down. This is the first decent pic of a 2T22 I've seen.

@kdksiren13 жыл бұрын
@sirenfan97 It sure looks like a DSA, but who knows. We are just going by what the EMS director told us. The 2T22 is really leaning over for sure. The mounting looks ok, but that pole is leaning to the south something awful. It seems it would be hard on the bearings to run it like that for very long but its been that way for a long time. Thanks!!

@Midnight1XCoffee When they work, they do the job intended. However, there are videos and articles on the web about the dependablility of these sirens. Though we still havent heard one in person, the vids are high pitched ear splitters. We have no idea the sound out of this particular model, but the EMS director in Dumas said they are nothing but trouble and can't wait for them to go away. They sure look like a Federal DSA though.
@kdksiren14 жыл бұрын
@Siren1000T1 Yea, it's an ATI. The controller in the EMS office is an ATI and it says so on the control boxes on the siren itself. The EMS director said they are nothing but problems and seldom work right. He hope to replace them. One is already gone!
