The E string pin hole is very close to the saddle and hence the string break angle is extreme@ the E. I am surprised he didn't elect to incorporate a long saddle instead of the modern day short drop in saddle and a dovetail neck joint. Does this have forward shifted scalloped bracing? What material bridge pins installed? What tuners are installed on this? Does this have medium strings? XS? Great tone, balance, bass, resonance volume.

This one has pre-war style bracing so it is forward shifted, the strings are mediums, the tuners are aged nickel Gotoh tuners, & we unfortunately don't have a spec on the bridge pins.

I Personally prefer the Thompson , BUT ,,, I'll bet that thing , picks like a dream ! I Love that new Name of the Luthiers is " Torrified" ! We always called it " Tanned " ! We would let our new or " Pitchy" Guitars set out in the sun for however long it would take to get that " Wore in" Pitch ! maybe just a hour or two a day in a mild sun , but that finish top would go from almost white to a rich , warm tan & it would be like a singer , Clearing their throat before a song ,,, It seems to give it a purer sound ! When the guitar warms up, the glue and joints settle in , everything just seems to mesh better & you can definitely hear it ! The best thing , you can ever do though is Slot your Peg Holes,,, I do mine and have done Hundreds with a " Coping saw Blade " just enough for that metal ring and knot on the strings to seat against the Top more than the Peg & always use Ebony Pegs !

Honestly! It sounds awesome, but I would go with the Eastman e20d, Mr. If you're worried about price. Hey, do a comparison !

Very Pretty picking !

I have played many Atkin guitars in person, and they do feel and sound a lot more "alive" and "refined" than most martins, Only the martins above 4K can compete sonically
@mcb6108 Жыл бұрын
I came so close to picking up a Martin 000-16 until someone suggested I look at the Atkins 00014. There's no no contest, going to have to save a little more but it's 100% worth the wait.

They're out of thier minds at that price without hide glue, no dovetail, a 30s long bridge, and a name not as well known like Martin. The hell

What gives them a right to charge this?
@pmscalisi2 жыл бұрын
Most independent luthiers charge that much for a guitar. There are some that charge twice that.

Anything hand built by highly skilled people is going to be expensive, then add on premium materials and nitro cellulose. It’s actually pretty reasonable,also if it had been built by one of the big name brands, it would be a lot more expensive.

In the Bolt on neck argument ,,,, on the side of the " Dovetail" , You have more Joint contact than a Bolt on. and when Dove tails were prevalent and the standard , that was needed because they were " Married by hand " ! In todays world of CNC mills ,,, its foolish ! a CNC mill can repeatedly cut joints so close and smooth that Glue or bolts aren't really needed , but in case you might bump or tip over your guitar , they Bolt it on ! But with the Perfect squareness of the CNC world today ,,, Bolt on necks make sense ! Jus My Opinion !

6500 dollars??? Well, looks like I WON'T be picking up an Atkin D37 in THIS lifetime.
@MrXNITROx4 ай бұрын
In the UK they are MUCH cheaper, probably cause they're made here, but you will have to go into the martin custom shop to find similar or better quality

A great sounding guitar, but frankly the only connection with a vintage 1937 is in the weasely mind of some marketing “genius.” Bolt-on neck, spruce “upgrade,” terrified top, etc. pleeeease! Minus the 1937 hype, the price point is more than double its real worth, IMO.

A name.... Blueridge and Eastman murder this guitar with bukkake at the end.
@luvbgrass2 жыл бұрын
I've owned 4 Blueridge guitars. I personally never had one that sounded like this Atkin, LOL Didn't cost $6500 though. But the Blueridge are pretty good guitars.😊 EE

@Tom Russo I hate ignorance and you'd better get an education rather then thinking one is anti american unless you think ignorance is part of being American
