Now that’s the kind of review I’m talking about. Excellent playing in a wide variety of playing styles, superb recording, and a very in depth and helpful description of what playing the instrument is like. I got to play one and only can agree with the responsiveness you describe. Your account of what it’s like to play is spot on. Great review!

Wonderful to see you back, Ben. Man, you really liked this one! Of course its one hell of a guitar. In a way, it echoes what the guys at Pre War guitars are doing in the States. Of course such quality comes at a price, justifiable perhaps if you are a working musician or a well heeled hobbyist. I fall into neither category, but you comment about using a dreadnought for dropped/open tunings has got me thinking about seriously considering one for my next purchase. Still the best guitar review channel on ‘The Tube’. Looks like the recent sessions at CUBE are going to bear fruit.

Hi Peter - at £3099 it's not cheap to be fair, but, compared to an equivalent 'small shop' guitar from the US it's very competitively priced. Be nice to get a PreWar in the studio for review at some point! Thanks for supporting the channel, take care - Ben

This is a top tier review - just wondered did you do a review like this of the Essential D or any other Atkin guitars? 😊

Great review Ben. Love to see the essential d review. I've played both and a few others from atkin. Great guitars. Been a while and I'm thinking of going to try some again to see if they may add something to my style of songwriting. I'd like to hear them without elixirs on to bring out a more natural sound of the guitar.

Wow! It's been a long long time since your last upload, was it NAMM 2020? It's great to see you back at work. Hope all is well despite all that's going on. Thanks for sharing!

Great review, als always! But can you tell something About the strings on that guitar? Obviously it's not bronze or Phosphor bronze, which would be the common choice for a dreadnaught. Is it morel?
@AcousticReview4 жыл бұрын
Hi there - the strings are Phosphor Bronze Elixir 12-53.

Always think of Gibson’s when I think of Atkin guitars. Sounds and looks great.

Great review, very honest and insightful. Have you played the OM37 and if so how does it compare. As a country blues/folk picker I'm more drawn to the OM, but as a producer, I:m in the market for a warm strummer with definition.

Hi Paul, I haven't played an OM37 but I'd love for us to get one in for review... I'm sure it would be a fine guitar!

Redwood bracing is an unusual choice instead of the usual spruce. It’s not as stiff as spruce so may necessitate taller braces.

How Is the neck size on the guitar is it slim/chunky?
@AcousticReview3 жыл бұрын
Been a little while since I played the guitar but I remember it as being 'comfortable' - definitely smaller than the Mod V neck on my Martin but not quite Taylor slim... Ben
@thefisherman28373 жыл бұрын
I think it's more a d with a slight V

Sorry. Such a great guitar, but that decal on the headstock is absolutely horrible. So cheap looking. For that kind of money? Wonder where else they skimp. I’d rather leave the headstock blank.

I absolutely love it, so vintage looking. Each to their own.
