Thank you for this. So many videos/discussions on installing new airbags and air valve blocks...but no info on what to do/not to do with the little pre-installed white placeholders. Wish I had found this video prior to installing my front valve block as I did it the hard way. Thank you so much!

I wanted to say thank you for the very good info as someone who's a professional technician but doesn't work on land rovers hardly ever. I found this very informative. However for those of you who have big hands like me. If you find you cant reach the rear top bolt to break it free. A mid 15mm and a flexible head 3/8 ratchet will fit. But only to break it free. You will need the ratchet wrench to finish removing the nut.

Thanks Doug, very informative. A helpful discovery I made! You can reach the back nut on the front springs via the engine bay quite easily with a socket on an extension. Between the engine and the heat shield which flexes back slightly.

Thanks Doug. Really informative video. Given me great confidence to do the change on my LR3. Hope you and the team at Atlantic British are all safe and well. Just wish you were here in The UK. I would have complete confidence in you to do the work on my LR3. Happy new year

Hello, I really enjoyed the video and it helped me a lot. However after reading the balance of the comment, I am hoping you can let me know what I missed. After Completing a brake job including rebuilt calipers and bleeding the system, added 2.5" Johnson Lift rods, and replaced the Front Struts/Shocks. In the process of about 2 weeks sitting on my lift I finally had everything finished and was ready to restart the systems. I used my TOPDON ArtiDiag 800BT to evacuate the air in the tank and struts prior to removing airlines, and when I tried to reset the Suspension Level Calibration process which re-pressurizes the tank and struts and established where the vehicle is siting relative to established heights, I couldn't finish because the vehicle wouldn't start. I ran a diagnostics looking for any DTCs or other systems problems and everything was good, other than the systems that required power and air pressure. Okay, long story short I need the engine started in order to start this process and the battery was dead. I recharged the battery and getting 13.6 volts and nothing. I disconnected the battery hoping to reset the system and nothing. The last time I tried to start it the dash indicators lights come on and look ready to start, nothing... Are the battery amps just to low, what am I missing something?? Thanks for any pointer Pete

I have a 2011 RRSC. I didn't use a scanner to deflate the suspension. I just backed the brass 12mm bolt off slowly with the car battery disconnected. Holy crap that 15mm back bolt on top is a F&*()))Bi&*)#. Ugh... NOTE: THE HIGH PRESSURE LINE DOES NOT JUST "SNAP" INTO THE TOP OF THE SHOCK ON THE SUNCORE SHOCKS. You have to put the connectors on the high pressure line and then screw together... then screw top 3 bolts on.
@LynxStarAuto7 жыл бұрын
Hmm I usually avoid the suncore stuff like the plague, but why can you not slide the new line in? The Suncore bags come like any other, the old fitting is removed from the air line, and the line simply slides into the new fitting until it bottoms out.

Can you do this job at home if you don’t have a diagnostic tool to deflate the strut? Does Access Mode get rid of most of the air? Thanks
@shaunbava1801 Жыл бұрын
for anyone still looking the answer is yes, disconnect the battery or relay for the compressor and depressurize it by cracking the nut on the air valve behind the front fender liner. You'll still need a computer to do height calibration, but the act of installing a new strut doesn't require deflating the system by computer.

They say knowledge is power thanks some of us believe they can tell all vehicles problems by just listening to the vehicle old school mechanics world.

Hey brother thanks for the video! I was wondering if you have to disable the suspension on the 2016 Range Rover autobiography Sport in order to lift the vehicle on a hoist ? Thanks
@adamfrazier2609 жыл бұрын
in the video you say it still needs a calibration from the dealer but not the Web site for the hawkeye and the black dongle it says it can calibrate the suspension, has that been added or is that for only certain models? I have an 09 rrs supercharged

How much would it cost to replace an air strut, parts and labor included? Here in the UK they're about £300 for an air strut, is this about right? I thought they was £1,000+
@atlanticbritishrp5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ryan, you would have to consult with a UK-based parts supplier. Our price here in the states could be different than what the price could be for you in the UK.

How about rewriting that question with some punctuation marks and some proper grammar so people can understand what you are asking?
