On the entire Greatest Showman Reimagined album, I hands down prefer all the original renditions... EXCEPT maybe this one. I think for all the other songs, they work so good as a big, bombastic, emotional broadway production. But this one... something about coming back home to your roots and your family... it works so well as a country song. The fiddles absolutely sing. Zac Brown Band really nailed this one.

I really liked it too! It was very clearly reimagined, but in a way that allowed the musicians to make it their own whist also honouring and remaining true to the original take. A fantastic example of remix culture, A+. P.S. I thought it sounded more indie folk, but I'm not familiar with the band (probably because theyre country ;p) and country music sounds _wildly_ different in my country of origin, so what do I know about it, lol.

@Zoptec6 жыл бұрын
Nael Zs exactly
@Elliaforever6 жыл бұрын
That makes no sense at all. The fact it's reimagined is because it's trying to be different from the original, which makes it a prime reason to compare it to the original. People not liking it over the original is perfectly reasonable. Telling people they're not allowed to dislike this over the original because it's "reimagined" is what is perfectly *unreasonable* and makes no sense at all. Opinions are just that. It's personal taste. It doesn't matter why somebody did their own rendition of a song, the definition of an opinion stays the same.
@nathanaelzio42096 жыл бұрын
@@Elliaforever Sir, i never said that people are not allowed to dislike this over the original. In fact, i said that "it's ok if you don't like it" as you can read in my comment above. And yes, it's personal taste. It doesn't matter you like it or not, it's fine, no problem at all. But the album name is "Reimagined", and like you said, it's trying to be different, it's supposed to be different from the original. You know the purpose of this album. So, when it's trying to be different from the original, why do people compare it? Both parties have their own opinion. People can say this Reimagined is good or not, but are they supposed to compare it with the original when the purpose of this album is trying to be different from the original? Why do people compare two things that are supposed to be different? Think about it. I think, people can compare the cover version with the original when it's 'trying to be same or better than the original' in various ways. But if it's 'trying to be different', why do people compare it? And beyond that, you must know that personal taste is fine until people often talk shit when they're talking about their "personal taste". You might not do it, but you can meet this type of people everywhere when they're comparing any cover song with the original version. Don't get me wrong here, if you ask me, I actually always prefer the original version of a song rather than any of its cover. Not because i compare them, but because i appreciated those who created the original more than people who did cover on it. People who created the song first, the original one, definitely put more effort than people who did cover on it, like they made the lyric, tone, rhythm, music, etc before someone else did. That's why i always prefer the original version of a song rather than any cover of it.

Original was more emotional because of all of them were singing. Hugh was amazing in this song

Although, i do like the version of this song. It's not a song about love (in the film it definitely was however there was more context in it) however it is of rememberance from where you come from. Which. In itself without the film it is a brilliant song.

James Forrest you should see how the cast singing this song and recording in the studio. They don’t sing about love..

@@DamienDbar Agreed. the country theme that this cover adds really tops off the whole idea of remembering your roots. that's a theme that consistently reoccurs in country music, i notice.

I do think that the song is basically powerful. I can feel the emotion through this version tho, but the original was more emotional as well.

Nana Maulana I mean, the original version does feature instruments that are often associated with country like a mandolin and guitars. It definitely fits as a country song.

I think they really reimagined the whole soundtrack because the songs dont sound and mean the same anymore after this. 😯

augustus jeko that’s the thing, all these artists were given the chance to change these songs into their own style of music. That’s the beauty of music, it’s yours ❤️
@MuzicLovr48986 жыл бұрын
They still mean the same thing, it’s just presented in a different way. The lyrics stay the same, which means the message stays the same. It just has a different musical sound to it

MuzicLovr4898 i disagree. Taking away the acapella of both this song and ‘rewrite the starts’ TOTALLY ruins their power.
@MuzicLovr48986 жыл бұрын
Natalie Zayas-Bazan well that’s okay, you’re allowed to have that opinion. I disagree, of course, but that’s what makes music great. We can still appreciate the other and respect their music preference, because it touched them in different ways. Obviously, the original touched you more than this version. I love both equally. But it touched us both
@Nazaba096 жыл бұрын
MuzicLovr4898 don’t get me wrong this version is still really good and when I first heard the song I imagined it as a country type, so I think Zac brown band did it justice, there’s just something magical of the acapella of the original.

Talk about cover changing the meaning. I'm picturing Confederate soldiers getting news that the war is over, throwing their guns aside, unhitching the horses from the cannons and marching home to rebuild their shattered communities. And the thundering base line is pounding hammers.

@projectpatar66714 жыл бұрын
@@totagarboua8540 history has that completely wrong. The civil War wasn't over slavery. The North had slaves just like the Feds. It was something that was that drove the war but both sides were basically pro-slavery.
