I used to think her mom was dead and that she was lucky enough to get her bracelet, but to find out after watching the movie for the first time in a decade of so since I last watched that she was actually still alive? My heart couldn’t handle it. Of course, her being assimilated into the crystal and becoming a crystal might probably be a worse fate than death given she no longer has the ability to become human again. I still think it’s cool that the one mom who still lives ain’t gonna die anytime soon and might actually ascend beyond the realm of dying..

The way Kida says “Milo...” is just heartwarming. He was the first thing she saw after being returned by the Crystal, he had been so worried about her, and in that moment, he knew she was back. The hug and hand holding as they gazed out over Atlantis said it all without any further words needed, you could feel the love between them. Beautiful.

\Enthusiasm/ - I will give that the villain was boring. Yes, the others were in it for the money too, but they were given a chance to expand on that with the camp scene... which Roark was left out of. They did give him the huge shpeil on museums but it was a weak argument even for grey-area's sake. Museums preserve artefacts and relics of DEAD civilisations, and Atlantis WASN'T dead. When Helga said "this changes everything" she wasn't lying. Though I guess Roark was going to take the crystal up and lie to the public saying that's all they found, but then it was implied that Milo stating that it was the people's life force it was going to drive up the price, which then defuses his entire argument about museums. Like hell they are going to take it... maybe. The museum curators were dicks. So Roark's a pretty boring character and disappointing villain, in my opinion, driven only by basic greed. "It's big. It's shiny. It's gonna make us all rich." That's all he is.

I love the music as she throws her arms around him, & the way her hair moves. She’s smiling, but looks like she’ll cry at the same time. Milo is taken aback, but returns the hug, embracing the moment in her arms. Kida has her face buried in his shoulder. They clasp hands, gazing at Atlantis. Kida declared: “Atlantis will honor your names forever.” She gave them crystal necklaces as thanks. Milo stayed to help Kida rule, & the Atlantans rediscover their long lost culture. Sweet tells him: “No problem,” & chuckles.

Pocahontas/John Smith alongside Esmeralda/Phoebus: Are we a joke to you? Their respective movies came out before Atlantis so Milo and Kida are the third interracial couple in Disney history. And I'm honestly not sure if I would call Kida and the Atlanteans black. Them having dark skin doesn't automatically make them African because there are Indians, certain groups of Southeast Asians and Australian Aboriginals who have dark skin too. I think Atlanteans are supposed to be considered an entirely different branch of Humanity race wise. That is assuming they are even Human at all given that they are very different to the rest of Humanity.

Well the thing is, the whole of Atlantis was shelled as it sank into the sea and made a cave for Atlantis (which is in a cave by the way). I think it took some time for the tides to recede so the shelled could be lowered but it was way after her mother was in there so it was too later for her to come out

from what I read in the Disney Wikia via an in-universe guide book: 1. Atlantis used to have subterranean entrances, and one of them was utilized by Aziz (the "Shepherd" who wrote the Journal), and unfortunately said subterranean entrance was submerged under the sea by the Leviathan in the aftermath of the Viking expedition (aka the scrapped prologue) the whole process with the Whitmore expedition was that Milo probably worked backwards: Aziz wrote of entering thru the subterranean entrance then somehow exited by way of the crevice 2. after the events of the movie and before the DTV sequel, Whitmore found more subterranean entrances, fortunately one of them in Amurrrica, and it is that entrance where he led famous figures to visit Atlantis

Sweet is the polar opposite to Rourke. Like Rourke, Sweet is a muscular guy but that is where the similarities end. While Rourke was merciless, sadistic and not afraid to hurt people to get what he wanted, Sweet while originally going along with Rourke tried to save the elderly king Rourke hit from dying and as his name suggested was a very sweet and kind guy.

He quoted Milo’s grandfather, which ignited Milo’s determination to set things right, get Kida back, return the crystal & save Atlantis. When I was a kid I could have sworn that Kida said mother after looking at the bracelet, unless I got confuse with hearing Milo and Mother since she was whispering.

Nothing really had to be said. The very fact that she got back her childhood bracelet is enough proof to realize that kida was able to reunite with her mother for at least a brief time understand what her mother and father had to sacrifice and with that knowledge will be able to thrive as a great ruler following her parents footsteps.
