This boat Will work for pve but not pvp, to get Max speed you need to be 25% of the max weight on a brig. It’s a good looking boat but people Will sail circles around it

Yea its for PvE I wondered if it would be tanky enough though but I've ended up taking the armour off and its still damn heavy with all the large cannons haha

all canons that not in gunport weights alot more (ship canon in gunport 40 on deck 100) the large balls are super heavy so most pvpers don't take more then like 150 and put alot of lvls in to weight so they get below 25% and keep the deck clean, there is no point in looking pretty when you sink ^^ you can carry extra ammo but have it in a drop box on deck so if you need some more speed you can just drop some :)

It's beautiful, but it looks heavy. What's the weight?

Its definitely a lump haha its just under 50% fully loaded now I've leveled it up does about 11 knots. Since recording this I have tryed to lighten it up also but its still damn slow haha

How did the top guns work out did you see results with the extra turret armor or did they turn out not worth the extra weight?

After 1000 hours in Atlas I've only just sailed my first brig. They seem to be really tanky, surprisingly maneuverable and great fun to battle with but so slow. What speed can you actually get them up to in a storm?

You can build them lighter of course and there a bit quicker. Run with 3 speed sails. Other than that they are the slower ship but they make up for it by being almost as agile as a schooner and much better than the galleon and being bigger and can carry more than a schooner but not as much as the galleon. I think there a well thought out and balanced ship.

Wonderful build, just a question about the weight. Normally I try to get max 1/3 of the weight to dont loos too much speed. Is it possible with this big canons and canon balls? I guess you are over 9t of weight?

PvE When ever I build armored ships I get pvp players saying things like this, and when ever I build a ship normally like this its the same, So tell me, what is required for a "PVP" specific ship?

@@MoshmanGaming PVP builds need to be under 33% with ammo, repair mats, and kits. A lot of the PVP captain try to keep them under 25% so the boat does not have any negative speed debuffs from the weight

Faster the boat the easier it is to get infront of enemy take their sail then plank them from their blind spot to finish off the boat

Plus with the current barrel meta a single barrel on your top deck will kill half of your NPCs

Ah right yea i knew that much I thought there was something else. The ship was not leveled in the video its weight is much lower now but still is not below that threshold, this will struggle to get under that but pvp ships look garbage haha Its silly that you can't build an actual ship that looks like a ship for pvp in a game that revolves around ships.... they should fix that

Are large handling sails better than large speed sails??

Depends really I prefer handling sails as the control on the ship they give is awesome. I believe in pvp speed is everything but most people still like to use a high crafted handling with good acceleration and keep there ships light, I don't pvp though so you might want to double check that.
