anyone who was wondering the cost for this ship is 42 sloped roofs (steps included in count) 14 walls, 14 ceilings, 12 planks. note this is the count for the version with the cannons on the front. if you wall it off all the way sloped roof count is 45

One recommendation I would have, add another set of the sloped half walls holding up the second set of plates. With just two it only takes a couple shots to take down 3/4s of that layer.

Nope. They don't work like that. You can actually remove those pieces from the build and the armor stays. Doesn't fall for some reason

Whenever you do this trick with not placing planks, it makes really cool designs, but I worry about whether I'd be able to replace something if a plank got destroyed there. Any thoughts on this? Just worth it anyway or is there a way around it?

You have a plant ready in your hotbar you destroy the plank place the piece replace the plank and do it fast. You have a few before the ship sinks.

Pc 4 life. No idea about what ps4 has going on. I think you can get ark for it. If you can ark is good game.

I know you purposefully have a plan to combat clipping issues, but let's say the ladder--for example--gets blown up in a fight. Do you then have to remove the ceiling piece to put the ladder back or since you had a ladder there before, the game somehow (magically) remembers and allows you to place it, even with the ceiling there? I highly doubt that's the case, but curious if you've experience it. Great vids, by the way. Happy Gaming!!!

You have to place a ladder on the side on one of the armor pieces or use grappling hook

@@Firespark81 Sorry, Fire, I was actually talking about the ladder you placed leading up to the top deck, where you specifically put the ladder first before you put the ceiling piece because if you put the ceiling first, the ladder will have clipping issues there.

Oh sorry I misunderstood. Yes because the ladder clips which is fucking stupid because it should not. It doesn't just do it on the ship either. The ladder is a buggy pos. You could solve this issue with a rope ladder as well.

@FireSpark81 I love this armor concept. I have been trying to use what you have done here on a schooner specifically for SOD kite / kill. I've been setting up two decks of 10 guns each facing the rear. Without the armor it works well at killing them before they get many shots on me but I wanted to armor it up and am running into many collision errors. Since you obviously know your building mechanics I wondered if you had or perhaps would see what you could come up with along these lines.

It's best to wait with the planks untill you finished the exterior (else you could have clipping issues where something cannot be placed). So even if you choose to go with either version, you put on the planks when the armor is slapped on.

The rope ladder at the back of the ship, you can call it down by hitting "T" while looking up at the rear of the ship.

The only problem I have is that when you crouch to get up the half stairs (at about 25:23) it doesn't work for me. I can crouch and enter, but can't crouch and exit.

Could be because of your size. If you are pvp you'd fill that gap in anyway and not put stairs.

It's a good boat but if you run away the enemy boat can hit in your down planks and easily sink your sloop

love the builds you do, very creative :) i have a few questions tho.. with a build like this if you level up your ship in sturdiness does that affect the armor or just your planks? and also is it worth it to use stone ceilings for the reduced damage it takes? (if you actually can use stone structures on the ship). in any case, keep up the great work.

Cant use stone and sturdiness does not change plank or armor hp.
