Edit: I just wanted to update that the game is just as creepy as I remember, and my husband is all in! Looking forward to the next part, John! Yesss I’m so excited for this!!! It’s one of my all time fave playthroughs of yours! I have to wait for my husband to get off work though since he’s never seen it lol. I'm so sad Sylvio 2 had the ending of "fuck it, it was aliens". It felt like the author threw the project, especially seeing the downgrade between the demo and the full game. I'm very surprised there will be a third game.

My thoughts exactly. I was so genuinely excited for the second game, and the ending was soooo disappointing. Which absolutely sucks because I think the first game is fantastic.

I watched the second game and while I don't know the demo, I did enjoy the noticeably depressing atmospherics. The ending wasn't only disappointing, but felt like coming out of nowhere unprompted.

Sylvio 2 was one of the saddest moments in indie horror game history. Can't fathom what will happen in Sylvio 3. Although, the developer made a pretty decent game in the meantime called Kakao I think? It was really nice. That gives me some hope.

I hate "suddenly aliens" at the best of times, but seeing Sylvio go that way was really disappointing. One of my friends suggested 3 will be a prequel. I'm hoping it just ignores 2 as non-canon.

From this excellent video from our CEO, I'm having good feelings about the next shareholder meeting. I'm really excited about this playthrough, Sylvio was always a personal fave, and the minute Juliette started talking it just made me super happy, I always loved her voice!!

Good to see that Juliette doesn't appear to be applying her own bias and is genuinely letting her viewers decide about the audio. Though i have to question the authenticity of her equipment 😉 Jokes aside this was a surprising gem watching you play it the first time. Very different and great atmosphere. Kinda sad that the developer changed the way the séances work. I'm pretty sure you used to put down the candle and start the séance. Not super different from what happens now, but making the character hold the candle in her hand feels more like they're producing it out of nowhere and it also feels like they're in a rush lol. Also, I think they changed the background music? There used to be music during the gameplay that lowered when the mic came into play, but now it's pure silence. I guess it's a valid choice! Definitely miss those sweet synths though. Anyway, glad to see John play this again! It's always been one of my favourites and I'm looking forward to more!

I'm so excited!! I'm glad they kept the intro sequence the same with that music and the wails like you said! And glad to hear Juliet's voice again. A little disappointed that the safe-cracking via mic mechanic is gone, but the spooky ghost voices are what I'm here fore. Overall I'm enjoying the replay!! It's a nice kick of nostalgia :)

I actually have your original playthrough of this game saved as a favorite playlist, so I think it's really cool you're revisiting it. I remember just really liking the vibe of the game: not overtly horrific, just a good atmospheric game with a cool concept. I remember watching you play the demo for the second game, and actually being legit creeped out during times. It's unfortunate how the second game came out but I'm tentatively interested in the third game, just to see how it will turn out.

Holy moly. I did not expect this at all! Your playthroughs of Sylvio 1 and 2 are some of my favorites, and I generally just love the entire feeling and setting of Sylvio - it's eery and yet, so calming. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing, and it's one of the few ones I've actually bought on Steam, even though I don't own the game itself. That car seemed to handle _way_ better than the ME Mako, though. Also, the idea of "following the crow" just has me imagining that this is somehow related to the "The Crow", even if I know it almost certainly isn't.

When John said it was a cozy horror game, I wasn't really sure how until I saw the gameplay. It's just a sort of spooky game where you help somewhat mundane ghosts out with a whispery ASMR girl.
