After a difficult Christmas, with financial worries, health problems, and family far away and recent family deaths your Christmas present videos are so soothing and encouraging. Cups of tea and flavoured chocolates. Simple pleasures and a warm hearted person's is feeling like the right thing this New Year's Eve. Thank you.

This is an old video so I'm not sure if you'll see my comment, but I really really love your random stuff videos. They're so relaxing and they've inspired me to perhaps do something a little more interesting with my life rather than sit around and do nothing. :) I hope you do more once it's safe to do so.

I'm wondering if the tea's should have been added to some gravy or stock. Might have added another dimension of flavor. Like from the twilight zone. 😂

In terms of the mushrooms going with chocolate, for oyster mushroom steaks I usually add cocoa powder to make it taste more like meat, and the flavour combo works together really well

Great Video, few things to discuss 1 - Tea is vile anyway but Brussel Sprout tea?!? It reminds me of the Walkers Brussel Sprout flavour crisps, they are horrible. 2 - Mushroom chocolate, ooo i dunno 3 - You use to live in Cyprus, no way how cool, which part? I use to go to Paphos couple times a year for holidays when my parents had a house / villa out there, sold it a few years ago now, do miss having it as you just get cheap flights out there & then do supermarket shopping. Besides probably best it was sold then rather than now in this current CoronaVirus era.

I lived in Limassol - this was a long time ago when I was a young child - for about 3 years before the Turkish invasion (we came home to England when that started)

Yeah, although looking back, the evacuation should have been pretty scary - my 7 year old mind found it exciting, but it was: A week or two of sleeping on the kitchen floor, listening to gunfire (there were no windows in the kitchen - my parents were concerned about stray bullets) Being woken up one night and quickly bundled into a jeep in my pyamas, driven to Akrotiri and flown out in the back of a Hercules - to Beirut (as it was a safer place than Cyprus at that time!)

Yeah, it's sort of cool. As a kid though, I was completely oblivious to the danger - during the daytime, I was still out and about catching lizards and hoping I would find one of the bullets on the ground that I had heard during the night!

Some intresting flavours there, that cheese would probably last for ages as it sealed airtight in wax. PS, I like your latest 'duvet' shirt the one in the first part of vid. Hoping you had a good Christmas.

Those pickled blackberries sound lovely. I’m going to give that a try when it’s the blackberry season - just off to trawl through and find your recipe for pickled walnuts, which sound lovely too but very messy! I wonder if the pickled walnuts are significantly nicer than store bought ones?

@@AtomicShrimp - yes, you reviewed some in this video but KZbin says it was posted 4 years ago so I didn't know if you'd had a bash at making some in the intervening period. 1) I guess I could have just searched "Atomic Shrimp pumpkin jam" 2) Thank you for reading and responding to my comment - very timely as I'd just watched another of your older videos yesterday where you said you did read all the comments ❤️ 3) Could volunteer squash jam be a possible project if you get a good harvest this year? Thank you for all your random content. I have been recommending your channel to friends and colleagues who think I'm bonkers; banging on about Blob Opera, hot dog wobbles, budget challenges, righteous indignation, etc. I've also recommended you to a few patients suffering with insomnia because so many people have commented on how calming your voice and videos are; I figured if they don't fall asleep, they will at least learn something interesting! 😉🤣 I could carry on but you have thousands of other comments to read through and stuff to make, scammers to bait. I'm off to search out your blackberry pickling video... ☺️

Sometimes, depending on how much a mission you've been on, I watch the video with commentary first, then watch it again at 0.75 or 0.5 speed. That way like now I get the dulcet tones AND then the inconsequential visual details you sometimes rush through.

The only japanese beer iv ever tried was asahi. It was a pretty good thirst quencher had a dry note to it. The thought of having abundance at xmas sends my tight arsery into panic as i try my best to eat in such a way as make sure the most perrishable gets consumed first to avoid waste lol. So its cold meats tonight and anything left will head for the freezer and be used in soups and chilli at a later date (turkey chilli is pretty dam good) so i can get cracking on the pate and then hopefully the cheese will still be in date. Although to be fair the best tasting cheese iv ever had would have been considered out of date by even the sturdyest of stomaches lol. And of course im sure that jack daniels is near its use by date so that needs to be downed sharpish lol.......ps i bet thay cheddar is kick arse in flavour
