I love Atoto S8 stereos. I have one for both of my vehicles going on three years, and minus it starts over once a blue moon, but keep my settings, no issues, and I'm going to buy two of these cameras for my vehicles next month.

I'm sad that the DVR app doesn't record map and speed data like my previous dash cam (Cobra) did. Do you know of a different app that would do this?

Hey do you know if you can hook up two of their reverse cameras (the one that mounts to the license plate bracket)? I'd like to use one for reverse obviously, but also one in the front for offroading/parking really close to things. I can't see anything on the A6 Pro's page that shows it can have two cameras wired into it - unless of course you used one reverse camera and one of these, USB dash-cam style cameras. Any ideas? Thanks so much guys.

I have their license plate backup camera and it works flawlessly. Also got the atoto dash cam too. I have an atoto a6 pro. It should work for you too:)

It looks like it’s programmable to show/ record gps speed that would be a great feature have you figured it out?

I know this is a little old but here's a tip for ya about the corrupt file. If that happens just reinsert the micro sd card into the dash cam and start then end a recording and it will fix it. It's actually pretty common for drone flyers that forget to stop recording.

May of 2024 i have just installed my atoto for S8 and its ao laggy. Any way to fix this before returning.and is there any alternative dash cams i can use?

I'd like to have ATOTO's AC-HD03LR back-up camera (that has the bird's eye view ) on both the front and the back and be able to switch between them. I don't think ATOTO has that capability internally, but what if I had them on a switch? The stitching setup would have to be the same for both (so they'd have to be mounted identically I imagine) and the front image would probably be reversed. But it would be cool to have.

Umm, the obvious question: Do you have to manually start recording with every drive or can you automate it like a traditional driving DVR? The interface we saw doesn’t seem much different than using a phone’s camera app other than the fact that you can “lock” files, which sounds like it will automatically record over the oldest unlocked files (looped recording). A phone certainly doesn’t auto-start or record over the oldest footage so I’d really like to know if this does.

i just installed an s8 with backup cam and dash cam. i noticed the dash cam video looks choppy on the real time display. hopefully this clears up when recording to micro sd.

I got the s8 ultra with the cam. The sd card does not read. Only says insert Tf card

You have to eject the SD card? Hmmm I don't have that problem with my unit. But with that being said I do have a few glitches I don't like.i guess problems differ for each unit.

@@TheSundaeDrive : I am not clear on what you mean by eject the SD card? Is there something in a menu I need to do, or can I just push on the card for it to eject? I just pushed on it to eject it from my head unit and put the SD card in my desk top computer, but can't seem to view any of the files.

I am getting ready to do a complete install of the head unit, backup cam, dash cam and realize there's an issue. If I use that USB port for the dash cam, then am I shit out of luck with Android Auto? I bought the Android Auto dongle to plug in that USB port. Any way around this or is it 1 or the other?

+Bill Mosienko nope! The dash cam has its own input into the headunit. I have a dash cam + backup cam + CarPlay dongle and still have one available USB port

Sundae Drive. I currently have the A6 pro and I want to ask can I use a usb splitter on the USB A port on the A6. I currently have a USB 1TB portable drive hooked to that port. Also any way to modify where the footage is stored. I ask here because getting anything intelligent out of atoto support is not likely.

I believe it has to be stored to the sd card. I do not believe there is a way to modify the storage location. For the splitter, I'm not sure but if you try it and it works let us know!

@sundae Drive. It works!!! At least for my setup. Atoto must not have modified the port as bad as we thought. Biggest issue with this radio is for as “open” as android is, Atoto “closed off” anything outside of how they wanted things. I have a Y splitter attached to the new Atoto cam and a 2tb Drive. Both are functioning. Only reason I got the atoto cam was they REFUSE to work with any other cam. Time and again I ask them on a modeI I want , and it’s always, “that’s not compatible. Anyway done right the splitter will work everyone!

@@myspectacularjourney awesome! Good to know. I agree, that is the only gripe I have is that they really limited a lot of potential features. On the other side, this probably keeps the unit well by not getting it bogged down with apps that aren't optimized for the device. Annoying that other cameras won't work tho

I don't think so. Pretty sure you are limited to one camera for this setup - other than the rear view camera, which isn't recorded.
