The one issue with the virtual birds eye is if something comes in from the side it will not pick it up and you could miss it... obviously don't depend entirely on a camera for position awareness. I'm debating between this and the Eonon UA12S-PLUS. Would be interested in a follow up video after you have been using it, most of the review videos are within a few days of install. how are the buttons, is the touch screen reactivity still good etc.

Looks fast. That's quite nice. I'm not a huge tech geek but I do enjoy playing with the xtrons in my e39. I have a rear camera for it but haven't taken the time to book it up yet because it's been sitting for months. The check valve in my oil filter housing broke and I don't want to kill the rod bearings.

ive been working on a stereo myself in my e60. i actually built an extension harness to move the stock radio to the trunk, i wanted to retain warning chimes and park distance control and i drive, as well as the i drive. but i was never happy with any of the android head units the carplay has always been finiky and the Bluetooth audio for some reason has always ended up sounding like the speakers are blown. i used the sos speaker for front left, the center chanel speaker in the dash im using for the rear and added another "sos" speaker under the passenger side kick panel for front right. i used a pac steering wheel control interface which also gave me a switched ignition output for my aftermarket pioneer head unit as well as illumination, e brake, and rear camera. the whole idea is eventually ill get an android i drive screen for mhd gauges and other i drive activities and have a standalone pioneer head unit with carplay for the stereo. i also just looped the most optical back in to the stereo and all audio from i drive plays through the aforementioned dedicated speakers.

10:30 i do not believe it uses a 'G-sensor' to paint and shift the 360° image. I believe it uses image capture and as the medium range image moves laterally, so does the adjacent image shift to match progress. This is why the camera is calibrated with a grid drop sheet. G-sensors are based on inertia and therefore a gridded drop sheet wouldnt be required for calibration.

Love seeing the old zero to 60 cars. I know it's been covered before but is there any chance of more refined e9x 8speed content now that 8speedAU is a thing? I'm also curious if 8speedAU are going to offer up kits for E9X 8 speed kits, I think alot of us on 6HP are keen on the swap but just get overwhelmed with the options and information and instead turn to 7DCT kits. Glad to see you succeeding after the events of the man who took your laptops (and the rest).

Well funny you should mention, its about time to put the e92 back together. Unfortunately because some idiot made some videos on 8 speed conversions its nearly impossible to get the mac daddy rear drive transmissions right now. However we are trying to work out a system or guide to make a 8hp50 work for 600whp cars. Once i have that worked out, ill share the info. If we can get that worked out, 8 speed swapping an n54 will be cheaper and easier to get.

I've been looking at units lately and the one thing I wonder is is it better to get a BMW E90 specific unit compared to this? I don't have any other cars except two Bimmers My 335 doesn't have the factory screen (Single hump) so I'm not sure what to really trust. I bought a unit back in 2018 for my E46 M3 and it's now crap. (It wasn't great to begin with). So I don't want a repeat of that thing. Thanks Andrew. I've never heard anyone say they prefer a smaller anything either LOL.

These units are relatively cheap new. Relative in comparison to average wages etc. 20 years ago, people could steal a stereo and get a weeks wage for it second hand.... these android units second hand are worth about a days average wage or less. Car stereo theft is not worth the risk vs reward for criminals any more.

You can fit universal units like this to e53s. However I’d only go that way if it’s got the business nav and no amp. If the e53 has an amp in the boot, you’d be better to go for a e53 specific unit.

I really like the Maxxecu. Bang for buck is out of control. And the Facebook page is great for help and assistance. You don’t get the support or help you get from Haltech. Well, you have to buy some products from them and build a relationship with them, like i did years ago. If you can't be bothered to even look at the manufacturer website you will not a good candicate for a brand to work with. If you want to collaborate with brands, you need to be a problem solver, not waste time asking silly questions. You need to be able to work out how to get things done yourself. You need to be able to make things happnen yourself. Keep that in mind if you want to actually run a youtube business. Generally you also need a channel, that when you post a video you get decent views and ensure the brand will make sales. You also need to have an audience that has faith in what you say. You need to prove to the world you know what you are talking about. So get to work and you can make things happen. However make no mistake it is so much easier to just buy a product. @@angelisone

looks terrible to be honest... It's 2024 and you've put it in a 1999 car.. and it's a double din head unit from around that era. I can't see any mention of them having CD or DVD, but it's the size of the really old double din units you'd get where the screen drops down with the CD slot behind it. Even if it does have CD / DVD, it still doesn't need the full double din sized back. I know it's meant to be a more premium unit than Xtrons but I found your channel when I bought an e53 and was looking at how to install the cable from the boot to an Android head unit. In 2024, that's how an Android head unit should be like, small and compact, not two house bricks taped together, and you need lube, power tools and lots of swear words to get it in place. If you're only going to use Android Auto or Apple Car play, then you don't need a full Android head unit, and if you're using full Android, you shouldn't be entertaining paying a premium price for 3gb Ram and 32gb storage space. I like your channel and content but this head unit can get right in the bin for me. Any of the premium quality you're getting is going to be forgotten about when it's getting laggy after a while due to the poor spec.
@ZeroTo60Tube11 ай бұрын
Hey Trev, Appreciate the comment. Atoto offer units in single or double din setups. But remember they are universal, not chassis specific units. The bmw style units won’t work in a car like this, this connects directly to the speakers not run through an amplifier like a BMW setup you’ve referenced. This is more of a replacement for a traditional style stereo like an Alpine or Pioneer etc. This is the fastest android unit I’ve ever used. And atoto have done a brilliant job with the android os customisation. It’s much better than any of the xtrons. But it’s not the unit to use in a BMW. It doesn’t have the chassis integration you will get with a chassis specific unit.

@TrevM0nkey11 ай бұрын
@@rickjames3034 You didn't read what i said did you? I said that the depth of it is the depth of one that has a CD / DVD, if it doesn't have those then it doesn't need to be that big. It's not like asking why if the latest 4K TV comes with built in VHS, it's asking why the latest 4K TV is the same size as a CRT TV, instead of being slimline like a 4K TV should be. Head units without CD's, are about 2 inches thick from back to front. This one is about 8 inches from front to back
