FYI: Austin must reschedule because of the KSI versus Wasabi conflict. Social Gloves likely wanted to have the event in July, BEFORE KSI. That’s why everything is last minute including unconfirmed matchups but they can’t organize in time due to the self imposed short fuse. And on top of that they must run promotion to compete with the KSI event which seems well on its way and better managed… that costs time and $$$$. Also, It’s a known issue in the entertainment business you can’t have similar events close to each other because people will only pay for one, people rarely pay or attend for two similar events (especially in this economy with inflation and gas prices). Austin’s advisors can probably tell from current sells (compared against the first event) and based on celebrity matchups that his event is inferior, or less than KSI’s and the least likely to get attention. They need more boxers with clout. So They needed an exit or excuse to move the date. Comics do the same thing… they won’t schedule do a city or arena within weeks of another comic that is similar or better. Chris Rock would never do dates within weeks Dave Chapelle at the same venue, and vice versa. The fact the Austin team moved after but within a potential the same amount of weeks but instead, after the KSI event is just bad business and baffling. If they are smart they will do late September or in October.

Okay so, professional boxing is very rigid and structured. If you want 'official' fights, meaning fights recognized by the big four promotions, then you have to follow their rules, and their rules are extremely strict. The way in which it all works is so archaic that to normal people it would probably seem stupid. But you can't be counted as a professional unless you follow the various rules set by the various athletic commissions in each state.
