Great video! I’m a current ATP student. My commercial checkride is tomorrow. I start CFI academy on the 24th. Do you have any tips for success at the CFI academy? I hear how tough the program is and I want to be as prepared for it as I can be! Love the content!
@TakingFlightWithEthan
@TakingFlightWithEthan Жыл бұрын
Hey! Sorry for the late response. Hopefully your commercial checkride went well! CFI academy is the most intense part of the program, and my biggest tip for you is to just take it seriously. You're learning how to TEACH new pilots how to fly, and that's a massive responsibility. It's hard, but rewarding and worth it! Pay attention during ground even though it's hard, and keep chugging along. When you get handed your certificate, it's going to all be worth it, I promise!

Same. I use sportys and study every category and then study the answers I got wrong after. Once I feel comfortable answering the wrong I dot he practice tests. $50 for all 3 endorsements on sportys

Sheppard air for everything past the PAR! My advice would be to split your time into 2, 2 hour blocks during the day for about a week. That should get you all ready for a written exam in less than a week if you're doing Sheppard Air!

So I’m looking to apply to ATP im currently finishing up my private pilot at a different part 61 (didn’t know about ATP at the time) it seemed like a great option for people who are dedicated and want to become commercial pilots as a career. however, i’ve been hearing a lot of horror stories about how it’s extremely intense you can’t keep up you can lose all the money you put into it, which is over 80 grand at this point and its really dissuading to me. I love aviation it’s certainly a passion but i also know I’m not the type of person who can sit in a classroom and absorb 8 hours of lecturing. So i suppose my question is, is ATP the big bad wolf that everyone says it is? Is it just grueling bookwork? I know how many books ive had to read to get through PPL and while im upset at how long its taken me due to aircraft being unavailable instructors leaving etc etc i dont think i could have done it in 2 months thats crazy fast. I was hoping maybe private pilot was the hardest of them all since you need to have all of the knowledge and everything else is just building up off of that. So id really like to get your input on your experience before i commit to ATP.

Depends on what you consider to be worth it! If you value getting done faster and better planes than most flight schools then yes, I would say it’s worth it. Just make sure you go to a location with a brand new fleet of aircraft

Great video, please keep it up with ATP-related content! Quick question: Do you recommend doing all written exams before even starting from "zero time" at an ATP location? If so, what impact would this have on the timeline of training? How much faster would one be able to get to the PPC?
@airman.
@airman. Жыл бұрын
hey, i’m at atp now (started with zero time) so i think i can answer! getting the tests done won’t make the training go by faster, but it’ll remove a good amount of workload from an already difficult and fast paced program. if you get the tests out of the way now, you can focus on your ground and flight knowledge. especially starting with zero time, it’s a firehose of information and some people can get really overwhelmed. do everything you can to give yourself a head start
@markaschmann8116

@@airman. Thanks a lot! Can I do all written exams before even starting flight training?
@airman.
@airman. Жыл бұрын
@@markaschmann8116 you can, that’s what i did. once you pass the private written exam (some use sportys to study, others use kings school) you can easily pass all the other ones using sheppard air as a study resource, even before starting flight training.

@airman.
@airman. Жыл бұрын
@@markaschmann8116 you can do them in any order or study for multiple at the same time but i would recommend just getting through just one at a time. it took me around 2 months to finish them all

Hey! I’m a senior in high school, and I want to be a pilot! Currently it’s my life goal! The funny thing is, the exact route you took, I want to take. I would go in right now, but I’m not 18. There is an ATP flight school, 10 minutes from my house, and it’s really sick! I also have 4 years experience in video editing and I want to do what you do, and document my experience! Is there a social media plug I could have to ask you my questions?

Talk to Marine Corps and Navy OFFICER recruiters. When I joined service (ex navy) the Marines had guaranteed flight school for qualified applicants. Heavy emphasis on Officer recruiters. Enlisted recruiters can tell you they have a path to be a pilot after several years, but only officers fly if you don’t have an officer contract which says flight school on it, then you don’t have any guarantees. Anyway, airlines love military pilots , the military has great training programs and they’re all free.

Hi, I’m currently a sophomore in High School debating if I should take the college route or flight school route. I want to get to the airlines fast but I’m afraid that without a degree someone with one could just get the job over me. Would it be sensible to just go to a college with a aviation school and get a degree with the proper certificates, or just go to a flight school(which cost significantly less) like ATP and get everything?
@TakingFlightWithEthan
@TakingFlightWithEthan Жыл бұрын
My situation might be a valuable consideration for you. I went to ATP fresh out of high school and just finished and graduate flight school. Now, I'm working as a flight instructor at ATP, making money and building hours, and getting my college degree on the side while I do this. By the time I'm old enough to work for the airlines, I'll have my degree and 1500 hours

Hello! I need you to answer me this specific question plz! I’m enrolled now in a flight school and I’m having difficulties ( restricted by the authorities due to my nationality ) to finish my 3 FAA licenses, therefore I have No flight hours at all and I’m wasting my time .. Then I got an idea that during this difficult time why shouldn’t I go to Europe and get only a frozen ATPL ? The question is : can I go to Europe and enroll in a flight school and get “only” an EASA frozen ATPL certificate with Zero flight experience ?? I want to have now only an EASA frozen ATPL can I have it ? How’s it gonna go ? Thank you so much dude!
@TakingFlightWithEthan

Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with anything the EASA! I know the FAA regulations relatively well, but not EASA or Europe license transfers. I'd recommend reaching out to someone over there! Sorry, I really wish I knew the answer to your question
