So I actually know the cousin of that Asian lady with the app. And what rly happened was they booked her to be on the show but then didn’t actually get her on the show until a year and a half later. So in that time the company grew a lot and she got other investments. On a side note she was already very rich. Her husband is like some rich Singaporean businessman who made some sort of accounting software.

The thing Mark said: "No no no, it has to be $600k" didn't mean he was trying to fight with Richard. He meant that you can not offer the entrepreneur less than what they came here asking for (rules of the show so entrepreneurs don't ask for 10M for 5%). And Richard offered $300k because he's new to the show. The water thingy happened in a different moment but they edited it in a funny way. Still a great episode.

Every time a kid comes out in a pitch, my first thought is that the idea is never fully thought through. Even if it's a good idea it's a dream, and yes that's good for entrepreneurs to have a dream, but something is not grained in reality along the way when it comes to a kids idea.

i have a muse headband for meditation, it's pricy but essentially it measures your brain activity as you meditate. i think this is the one viable "meditation app" (the product is just the headband so it's not really selling the app, but you can freely use the app without the headband), because it provides actual value to your meditation experience and i myself noticed that i got better at meditating. also, i'd disagree that only meditating for 5 minutes isn't really worth it, but i think selling just an app is a scam because you can literally meditate for free lol

Although meditating for five minutes can be valuable, trying to fit meditation into a five minute timeslot seems too stressful to actually be productive. You don't have the time to not be focusing on how much time you have left and then you're stressing over how much time you have and then trying to speedrun meditation and it all just seems a bit counterproductive.

During my psych major I did a couple of research papers on meditation and mental health and the results I found were mixed. A lot of studies say it's great and a lot say it only helps a tiny bit or doesn't help at all.

Well, the issue brought up wasn't meditation itself but meditation apps; I'm of the opinion that meditation does have potential practical uses (let's put it next to microdosing psychedelics on the experimental psychiatry scale, not proven but not straight up horseshit), but as far as apps go I think they're bs and basically have no use case beyond placebo.
