Thank you for these incredible films. The women are astounding. I wonder how they and their children are today. Nora ‘s singing voice so powerful.

I went to school (St Monica's) with many girls from the Strand. My own maternal grandmother was originally from Seaforde St. I was brought up in an entirely protestant area..bar two other catholic families in the street. Some of my schoolmates had never met a protestant. Such loss of life.. for what..when you consider what we're facing now.

What's going on in the final scene? Very gloomy, hard to make out. Car pulls up, men get out, Look to be carrying guns? Are they British army? Someone says in an English accent "Stop filming please" They seem to be wearing uniform. What's on the roof of the car?

She mentions the guys setting the fire on the ladies night, I want to hear more about what happened but can't find anything online. I don't suppose you know more? I'm trying to learn about the 'Troubles' (I'm English) and your channel has been absolutely amazing, I've watched almost all of it... thank you!

I’m from there. It was an incident between the Provisionals and Official IRA. The officials torched a club belong to the fledgling former. There was bad blood (maybe still) up until the 80s.

Protestants were burned out of their homes in Thistle Court and Duncairn Gardens, Belfast.....including protestant families ethnically cleansed from the border counties during the 80s. All freely available online to fact check for yourselves.
