Born and raised in the Bronx and left for Jersey in my 20s. I’ve never heard someone speak about the Bronx the way this man just did. Honest but hopeful. Realized it’s rough appearance but noticed that the people are what make that place special. Really well done sir thank you 🙏.

Grew up right off Fordham Rd and the Major Deegan in the 70's. I'm 60 now. Traveled all across the world. Helsinki to Bangkok. Denver to Budapest, Beijing to Da Lat. I'm a wanderer. Always have been. No matter where I am all the breadcrumbs lead back to The Bronx. That place, those people made me what I am. Thank you for looking beyond the hype and BS and seeing the real....showing her some love.

@12:06 ??? The wife and I got the subway to the yankee stadium then walked to 1520 Sedgwick avenue. There was tons of rubbish everywhere and a whole bag of mail was dumped too. There was dirty nappies hanging from the trees and on the ground. It made us feel a bit uneasy, especially as we had 80's bronx in our heads as that's kind of stuck as the perception of the bronx. It was a shame as there were a type of tree we'd never seen before and some pretty outstanding rock formations along that road. A guy was stabbed in the subway whilst we were there too. However despite all this I want to return to nyc and visit more of the bronx as it did feel more like the gritty new york I remember from tv. I also heard that classic train horn too. Its them little things like that sound which put a smile on my face and think, yea we're here in the usa.

As my native borough, I hold this place extremely close. It has a lot…a lot of problems however I will defend this place to my dying breath. I’m glad this place has something other then negative coverage. PS It is illegal to go to the Bronx and not go to a bodega at least once. If you are caught leaving the borough, a native will drag you to one and force you to eat a Bacon egg and cheese.

I hate when I miss notis, in general, and in particular those like this. I'm in love with the city of New York, always have been and always will be. Imagine my surprise, then, growing up, when I learned my best friend was from there in the early 2000s; I even remember the very conversation we were having back then about it. Fast forward to 2018 and we finally go there together. When I tell you it was one of the best trips of my life (not that I get out much). I bought so many clothes and shoes to look and feel cool lol, especially since it was christmastime when we went. My friend's godmother put us up for that trip and showed me a good time in the Big Apple as she always did my friend when he would visit from Texas where he and I lived and grew up. So where did we stay? The Boogie Down Bronx, right there off 177th in Parkchester, right up the way from the 6 train. Staying in The Bronx was amazing bc I was staying in the very borough that birthed hip-hop, my all time favorite musical genre, and I was just learning and following Desus & Mero 😂

How do you think content is produced? Our episodes cost between US$6000 and US$10,000 to produce. We actually have to go to these places to film so there's flights, hotels, transport, food costs. And Greg, as benevolent as he is, is not a charity - his time and considerable skill is not free. Then there's music licensing, fixers, animators, translators, etc. Not a small amount of money. So once the channel hit a certain subscriber level, we were able to work with sponsors to help defray the costs of producing the episodes. These integrations are necessary to keep the channel going and fund future episodes. If you'd like to see less ads in the future then you could consider becoming one of our Patreon patrons (www.patreon.com/attache) - our patrons have funded many of our episodes all of which are ad-free. And I'm always open to hearing thoughts on how to defray the costs of producing our content. Thanks for watching. - Alex
