Today we take a look at the new and improved Helicopter Engine v2, which allows us to stack helicopter props on top of each other, making helicopter physics SO MUCH EASIER! Torque with helicopter engines was always a big problem, but now with the ability to stack engines, it's not! So let's make a new awesome attack helicopter and blow stuff up!

Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

7:13 When you add more blades to the single engine, speed decreases due to the torque limit. So really by adding more blades you are making it worse.

The two blades being better than four physically makes sense. The energy that gets converted to upwards propulsion comes not from the blades, which are the converters, but from the engine. The blades only take their rotational energy and change it upwards propulsion, doubling them, means that the engine provides only half the energy to the blades, but the weight still increases. Therefore you cant lift off. Though i believe that this is not the case and its actually a bug, becouse in order for it to be the case, this needs to be a simulator with accurate physics, what would make it very CPU hungry.

Scrap man, I was playing trailmakers after I saw your video and I have come up with a way get different speeds. Logic blocks have a slider and you can set it from -1 to 1 and all in between. So I was thinking if you made it so that the logic block would count as a set speed and that block (and other blocks with various levels of speed) powers both propellers then say, space + ctrl is a low speed and space + shift is a high speed I’m working on a prototype with this concept, I’ll upload it to the workshop.

You could call the helicopter big grey shark because it kinda looks like one. I am pretty sure that you placed the 2 additional pairs of blades the wrong orientation canceling each other out. Also I think your wings cause you to go down when you are tilting to move forward.

To improve the balance you could remove one 4x2 piece from the tail right before the tail wing to just make the heli a little bit shorter, because it even looks a little bit too long in my opinion, but the creation is awesome overall!

Hmm, I wonder if moving the blades further away from the rotational-pivot would make them provide more lift? Perhaps with a small modular wing for additional lift...

I made a helicopter design that has variable thrust Press = and the blades start spinning up but not enough to lift the helicopter Press shift and the blades speed up, increasing lift Press ctrl and the blades slow down, decreasing thrust, lowering the helicopter All this with logic and 2 sets of helicopter engines

Maybe the four blades issue is due to the direction the new blades because the blades are like wings which generate lift with wind speed around them but wings are not symetrical (i mean front is not the same as the back and orientation is different)

When shooting you need to keep your helicopter calm and on the same height. That is how you will be more efficient and acurate. Also, try adding two small propelers on the sides of the tail. That is what all helicopters have in order to turn in place. That is how you will be more agile.

MPM idea Rescue Who can build a helicopter that can land on the snow then weld the lost(in the snow land) people and bring the back to your heli-pad The person with the most people on their heli-pad wins 2nd way use the rope mod to pick up the lost people, drag them up, put them on your helicopter land at the heli-pad and drop them off(all this while not welding anything) feel free to alter the rules Extra stuff you can add. Add a snowball cannon to shoot down evil snow monsters as the try to avoid your canon (knock them down and make them move left and right). Each monster is the same as 2 people

it is called aircutting the one below is pusing a hi under the upper bland spo ther is a down force now if you stager them like a Chinook helicopter or a osprey then i think it will work take one off and only use two blades and take the propeller off and put it on the back / tail so you cancel out the torque.....

im very interestred in a science testing video from you, just hop in and mess around with some of the mechanics you are less in tune with and talk about your results, maybe try and figure out why it is that more blades equals less lift? or perhaps try to use the v2 helicopter engine for a tail rudder to prevent torque.
