Sasha and Mikasa’s friendship is so underrated I wish We got to see more of it. I loved how Mikasa Would mess with her and how’d they look out for each other during battles. They've been room mates since they were cadets in training. If you think about it after Ymir left and Historia became queen They were the only two girls left on the team. Mikasa sitting on her grave broke my heart.

the thing about Sasha's death is that it wasn't supposed to be heroic. for that matter, nothing that happened there was heroic, it is supposed to be a tragedy. this feeling of "did she have to die that way?" applies to everyone that died there, it seems pointless and cruel

War is war and she is a soldier. In aot world being in the main crew doesn't get you bullet proof. And what's about to happen makes a full circle about sahsa that's what really hit hard. Her death actually pushes the story moving forward.

What special about Sasha is that she hasnt done things like Erwin died as a side character, she didnt died in a sort of dramatic way, but we all get sad of her death. She's a perfect side character that was not saved by plot armor, she died like how a normal soldier would die in a battlefield. But we all know, Sasha's death gave developments for some of our characters.

Sasha was the comedic relief of the show & probably the most positive character, she was always positive in dire situations, so I felt like her death symbolizes a dark turn for this series. Imo, it had to be one of the those 3 who got shot, if it were just a random, it wouldn't even be meaningful & we wouldn't care. This death broke a bit of each of our main scouts. This AOT is no longer the AOT we once knew, we're used to always seeing Armin, Mikasa, & Eren together, but at the end of this episode they're all off on their own. As far as wanting a "better" sendoff for Sasha, you'll see.

Not everyone gets a heroic death scene because that's how real life goes, and that's exactly what Isayama wants to portray with AoT. In war some of the most lovable, amazing soldiers die without any heroic death. Edit: there were MULTIPLE lookouts. Jean and the others were among them. He was telling Lobov to ascend already but Lobov refused and wanted to check things out below more.

Yeah, they had lookouts but they were done and dude should’ve gone back inside so they could elevate out of range. No one should’ve celebrated until they were out of enemy territory. The combo of Lobov taking too long and his absence not being noticed right away, plus the distraction of the loud celebration was the perfect mix of things to allow gabi’s assassination. Basically, just how things get effed up in real life.

Also remember that Marley probably have a lot of bottled Titan powers, similarly how Rod Reiss had a bottled power of "armor" probably Marley also can isolate and bottle up titan abilities to help their warriors get into their prime titan powers without having to go through years of training. Perhaps this was jaw juiced up with some other bottles and powers, and this is why it looked like it did.

EVERY PREVIOUS HINT OF ZEKE WORKING WITH EREN : -Obviously the "I'll come and rescue you someday" at the beginning of 3x18 -Zeke's line "not in this room" at the end of 4x2 which was a bit fishy, and got noticed by Reiner and a Marley officer listening to the conversation -The second time we see Eren and Falco talking, Eren has a baseball and a baseball glove (and we know how much Zeke likes to throw stuff) -Willy and Magath's conversation, when Willy says "the house is full of rats", meaning Marley seems to be spied on from the inside by people working with the enemy -When Yelena comes to get Galliard and Pieck away from the future battlefield, she asks Zeke to go at the gate, and Zeke casually obeys -When he comes back as the Beast Titan, he says "Eren is not my enemy", which, now we know, is literally true, and also says "You're running out of time" to Levi, who just happened to be holding a watch in his hands, vewy weird...

Erwin's death was perfect for the plot and character arc plus it adds layers to Levi and Armin's characters. Sasha's death was a catalyst for Gabi's character development, as well as the overall tonal shift of the show.

For those who can't understand the timeline, The success of the Wall Maria recapture operation was four years ago. And Marley started a war with the Mid-East Alliance from then on because they lost their Female and Colossal. Since then, Scout have killed all the titans on the island for a year. Three years ago, the time when all the titans were killed, Marley sent the first investigation ship to Paradise Island, where soldiers such as Yelena and Oniancopon were on board. In other words, scouts and Zeke have never faced each other directly after the Battle of Wall Maria, and they communicated through Zeke's follower, Yelena.

Sasha’s death was actually supposed to happen in season 2 when she rescued the little girl in her hometown. She was supposed to die to the Titan in an effort to save the little girl, but Isayama’s editor read the chapter and was sad about her death and concinced Isayama to change it, giving us the AoT we know today.

The thing about Sasha is that her death wasn't indeed like erwin's which felt more acceptable. In fact the story chose to let her die but even worse as a mere "casualty". (of course that's not how we see and feel about Sacha but how the story made it seem) it was did on purpose for those who still believe that there are sides in this story (it's true and understandable that we all love the scouts more than the marleyan side because we spent so much time with them but this show is trying to make us see the bigure picture by humaniing the other side. Did Eren really choose the best choice ? Wasn't there another outcome that would have avoided all this ? ( And Sasha dying in such an unfair and pitful way are hints to this)

It’s easy to empathize with someone you know dying like Sasha but every person who died in Marley had people who loved them. Because they were hoping for peace against all odds(even if they are allying against paradise, there’s still a possibility for understanding ), but Eren erased this possibility completely and forced them to reduce whatever time they had to think about peace ( I’m not blaming Eren’s action because like you said they were going to attack sooner or later I’m blaming him for taking the initiative for his people because even if he has no choice, he dragged them with him and reduced the future initiatives and time they disposed of to figure out how to make peace.) Finally I do think that it’s too great of a choice for one person to carry. It only seem fair to know what everyone wants and to act in consequence. When I say that I think of Erwin and his coup d’etat, he was the initiator of it but he give a choice to all the inhabitants of the wall the choice, to either believe in his coup d état or reject it. That’s one point that proves how great af a person Erwin is because his life was in stack but he still gave a choice even if he had to die for it.( obviously he knew that people will support it because he’s a fine strategist) I’m not saying that Eren’s choice was logically bad but it’s the worse morally, ethically and don’t give this so called freedom,choice and free will to the people he’s fighting for (fighting for their sake to give them freedom in an ironical way)

Armin said it was the only choice because Eren forced them to. They couldn't let the Marleys have the founding titan(Eren) but Eren served himself on silver platter to Marley and the Scouts had no choice but to get him out of there otherwise they would be gone. If anything Sasha's death felt the most real because in war there are no "Main characters" there are just soldiers that don't have plot armor and can die just like that. Everyone is a red shirt in war.

Sasha’s death was out of nowhere. Looking at it just for her character, it didn’t make sense. You couldn’t sense it was coming at all. That’s why it is the best and most realistic death in attack on titan. In war, it doesn’t matter what goals you had for the future. It only takes 1 bullet to put an end to your story. Even an innocent soul like Sasha.

I've seen this episode a lot and Sasha's death was very sad thing.... but watching the brothers react to this episode made me laugh every time they see her. cause they have no idea how her death is a big part of this story

i’ve had 2 theories about the “super jaw” as you describe it, that galliard has but ymir didnt have. my first theory is that it could be a special titan modification, like how eren drank that bottle labeled “armor” in season 3 and then he could harden. this could suggest the royal family and potentially marley can modify the titans to a degree. my other theory is that the strength of the titan is somehow linked to the personality of the person using it, and that fate or the paths potentially ties people with similar personalities. think about it: bertholdt and armin have very similar personalities. so does eren and his father and kruger. presumably, so would galliard and his brother marcel (who ymir ate) have similar personalities. and titans have even been stated to have their own personalities, like the attack titan “for the sake of freedom it fights”. this could also link to the fact that people can have titan memories before they even inherit the titan, like how eren in season 1 had a dream about his mom getting eaten and he woke up crying, before that even happened. its like person A’s personality is being shaped by person B before person B even eats person A. ymir however, she was an outlier. she got the power completely by accident when marcel was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. she doesnt fit the ideal jaw titan personality, so her personality wasnt primed for inheriting it.

I always took Eren laugh like s2 12 when he saw Hannes got eaten also ..always wonder why can't Eren use founding titan power to erase everyone memory or it only works on Eldian? ( I am not up to date with the latest episode or manga so I may ask a dumb question )
