Fun fact Isayama said he could've ended the story on a happy note but didn't because he felt it was too "hockey" and that it's much more believable and realistic for the cycle to repeat and for Paradis to be destroyed in war as it would reflect the outcome it would have if this happened in our own world. Given that as his reasoning, it's hard to refute.

From the conversation that Zeke was having with Armin, it seems like titans were a manifestation from Ymir attaining that power as a wounded slave running for her life. So I wonder if that the power would maybe manifest in a different way being acquired by a child just out exploring with his dog.

Voila, also Ymir was hunted by dogs but the little boy had a dog as a companion, so maybe the power will be in better hands.

Really hard to tell since Ymir is our only sample size here. I guess the implication is that part of the parasite was still inside of Eren's head and, over the millennia, recovered and regrew. But I think the thing is just meant to be a metaphor for all of our bad aspects, our devils inside of us.

I agree with that, every part of the Power of the Titans was Ymir’s pain and loneliness given flesh, so there’s no guarantee it would happen that way again

Ymir identifies with Mikasa because she loves Eren in the same way Ymir loved the Eldian King whatever his name was. But Ymir's love had her obeying him for an eternity. I guess what Ymir did was put their love to a test, to see if Mikasa behaved as she did, or if Eren behaved like the King. In their love she saw what it truly meant to love someone. Eren, knowing that MIkasa was going to end him, never stops caring about her, and asks her to be free after he's gone. He's seen Ymir's story and doesn't want Mikasa to be like that. Mikasa, stubborn as she is, refuses to get over him but still does what needs to be done. This is my interpretation of the story, but seeing them I think Ymir realized what love, an actual connection is supposed to be like. She wishes she had chosen her daughters over the King, who still only thought of her as his slave even as she lay dying in front of him. And here are Mikasa and Eren, caring for each other even in their dying moments.
@Nikolaj11
@Nikolaj11 10 ай бұрын
I think you are right, but I also think there is another element to it, a more literal purpose behind Mikasa's connection with Ymir perhaps. Remember that Eren says that Ymir was looking for someone to set her free and that one was Mikasa. Mikasa overcoming her love and killing Eren at that specfic moment, when he is disconnected from the life force, is what stops this cycle, ends the Titan power Ymir created and by extention the paths and her eternity of solitude. The reason why everything has to happen as it does is because without the Titan powers coming to an end like so, Ymir would probably remain in bondage to the paths forever. For example if she has been forced to commit to the sterilization plan of Zeke, the Eldians would eventually die out but the life force that granted her the Titan powers would probably remain and so would she, but connectionless.

I just don't really see when or how she fell in love with the King, she got the titan powers before he made her his slave-wife so at this point she was merely abused and hunted by him, why didn't she immediately go to crush him with the new titan powers? even if this was some sort of stockholm syndrome thing it couldn't have happened before he made her his titan-slave
@Nikolaj11
@Nikolaj11 10 ай бұрын
@@ZetsubouZolo My assumption was that it was some sort of Stockholms Syndrome. I mean, Ymir lived under his bondage for long enough to come of age and then have a daughter raised almost to adulthood before she died, lots of years in between those events to grow an attachment to her master.
@ZetsubouZolo
@ZetsubouZolo 10 ай бұрын
@@Nikolaj11 but this is exactly what I'm saying, it makes no sense she fell in love before the point he made her his slave-wife with the titan powers, she was just working under him and couldn't have gotten a chance to get to know him until then unless that was some sort of celebrity crush.
@ishaan863
@ishaan863 10 ай бұрын
@@ZetsubouZolo think of it in terms of abusive relationships. When you're someone who has been abused from a very young age, your ideas of what forming a connection are, your ideas of love, it's all twisted. Ymir was lonely, and tortured, and she sought validation from the king. She tried to make him happy, she sought a connection, thinking if she just proves herself he would love her. But he never did. And she never realized what genuine love or care looks like. She only got used. Remove titans and slavery and it's a story that's unfortunately too common in our world.

The end! And Jean will be forever called Jeen. lol 13:20 Armin's voice actress outdid herself there man. And then they immediately follow it up with the freaking baby scene. T_T 26:34 It did happen. Ymir granted the two 4 years of this alternate reality in the paths. Of course Mikasa couldn't throw the scarf away though, ending up getting buried with it. And yes, I believe it is Mikasa's unconditional love for Eren that connected Ymir and Mikasa. 28:31 There two important scenes that are relevant here. One is in season 1 when Eren talks with Pyxis in the wall about a great evil that will unite humanity - at the time of the talk they were referencing the titans, and them still not being enough to achieve it. The other one is in season 4 with Willy Tybur, talking about their made up hero Helios. 35:50 Watch the credit scene of the first special again. The song that plays there is called "Under The Tree" and I highly recommend checking out the English cover from Jenny. But in that credit scene we basically see Mikasa carrying Eren's head towards the tree. :( 37:58 More like Mikasa. >_> 40:20 They all literally got turned into titans right in front of them. Of course they're going to be suspicious. lol 45:00 Basically, MIkasa was able to let go of Eren, despite her connection to him, which I think helped Ymir to also let go of King Fritz and finally move on. 46:30 Falco was created with the spinal fluid of the beast titan. That's why he had this animal form and capability to transform into a proper bird. All the animal titans you saw were the beast titan. The one of Xsaver I believe was the goat thingy. I think overall a few hundred years of peace was pretty solid as an outcome. Poor Mikasa though. :( I can't help but feel sorry for her.

I interpreted the ending is that humanity left to their own devices will always fall back into the temptation of sin, killing, war even after being shown what Eren did which he intended to be a war to end all wars by showing humanity the horror of the cycle of unforgiveness and vengeance. I love how the Ending just shows us the repeated Mistakes of Humanity over the Decades. History repeats itself, or how Magath put it: "There is no doubt that Eldians are Devils and there is no doubt that us Marleyans are Devils as well." These Final Scenes spanning several Decades were btw nothing but Full Page Drawings without Dialogue in the Manga at the very End of the Story. Just beautifully drawn Pictures telling a Story Without words and leaving the Interpretation to the Reader :) So what did Eren actually sacrifice everything for in the End - he should've just gone for that 100 % Kills beyond the Island to actually pull off a solid Reset :D His Sacrifice DID HOWEVER let his friends live a long (and arguably) happy Life, and that is truly all he ever wished for. Was is worth unprecendet Genocide though or can we EVEN ask these Questions in the first Place, since it was all sort of set in Stone from the very Beginning anyway :D !?

I know this is really insignificant but I wonder if turning into a titan fixed Annie's dad's crippled leg
@slayer91340
@slayer91340 10 ай бұрын
I wondered that too. I almost think you can only return to the form you were in, unless you were one of the 9 like how Armin went from crispy to normal. I think that because of how Reiss had his back broken and it kept him messed up when he turned. Or Connie's mom being immobile. Assuming she was already on the aging weaker side. Fun thoughts though. I'm glad they didn't answer everything and left so much for interpretation.
@nnightkingj

@@slayer91340 I think it just depends on how Ymir makes them because there's no indication that Connie's mom was crippled before being a titan she was just made disproportionate. This is a appreciable case because normally a mindless titan can never come back to human so we've never seen an example of somebody coming back as a human without eating one of the 9.

It's not technically implied that everything will happen the same as Ymir because there's different circumstances. It's implied that Ymir became a titan because she wanted a stronger bigger immortal body and she kept the titan curse up because of King Fritz. The same may not be the case for the boy at the end, especially since he wasn't actively being hunted down At the time

41:03 Look at the bottom left corner, that worm-like creature is there😱Did Eren replace Ymir? Is Eren is next Ymir?🤔😳 love and ymir ***ridiculous😡Ymir was waiting for 2000 years to be freed from her love of the King? What a joke.👿Deaths of 80% of the global population is unimportant but love is more important. About Eren's dream: This part is in the manga; Eren: ''Mikasa your hair...It's gotten longer hasn't it?''😱Loop?? There's a part of Eren's dream where we see some toys in a room. looking at the toys, they are probably for a girl. And the flowers pattern are the same type of flower that we saw in the Historia ending in S3. That flower is not showed in any other place in the whole series. And that Ending also links Historia with Ymir. Why was Historia's child born as Eren got blown up?🧨 Eren is the Father of Historia's Child??🤔🤫 Eren(1x2):“I'll kill them all! I'll wipe every one of them...off the face of this earth!" And Eren was never free😭 The greatest anime of all time. Thank you AOT & Hajime Isayama for 10 years of witnessing this masterpiece!❤‍🔥It's been an amazing and heartfelt journey,Always gonna be remembered..🔥 See you later AoT...WHAT A WILD RIDE...And one last time,Shinzou wo Sasageyo!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

OK so the reason Mikasa sort of "saved" Ymir and the Reason Ymir waited for HER in the End (and not Eren) is the Fact that they both had this incredible and undying Love. Two Women with incredibly traumatizing Backstories and one "Savior" at the Center of their lives. Granted, the Relationships to said Savior are quite different, but I think you have to take the time difference and corresponding Culture into Consideration as well. The whole Deal with Slavery and Monarchy being a Thing is something to remember here when it comes to Ymir's "weird" Love for Fritz I believe...Ymir could never let go of it and was never able to do "the right thing" for herself (I mean she literally died for Fritz), whereas Mikasa also never let go of her love but did the overall selfless thing in killing the Opressor she loved so much. Mikasa basically did what Ymir should've done 2000 years ago...Imagine Ymir doing the right thing, letting her beloved King die and not be enslaved by the Ideology of Titan Supremacy - we literally wouldn't be in this INCREDIBLE MESS we are during the entire Show xD She sees herself in Mikasa and is incredibly proud/happy in the Way it all ends due to Mikasa's Decision at the end of it all. Take this with a grain of Salt though, since that is no official Analysis, but just my personal Understanding of the whole Situation^^
