About 62 years ago I was visiting my grandparents. A neighbor was running to their house. Her brother had run into a hornets nest with his tractor. He needed to be taken to the ER. The sister didn't know how to drive and they didn't have a phone. We went and picked him up. I will NEVER forget what I saw. His face was swollen beyond recognition. He was bloody from all the stings and he was delirious. I am hoping you are okay. I know your new neighbor appreciates everything you did. That was a huge lot. I would imagine about 2 to 3 acres at least

Hornets are the most dangerous among wasps because of their large stinger size, and strength of poison that injures the cardiovascular systems.

Just had to have a yellow jacket nest removed from underneath siding on my house. They were getting in the house, and stung me and my family. They are aggressive and I agree they keep on stinging as long as they can. The exterminator said there were at least 200-300 bees. Glad you backed off quickly. Good neighbors are always appreciated.❤😊

Yellow jackets are "wasps." They can sting up to 5 times before dying, whereas a honeybee can only sting once. Hence, honeybees typically sting when either they or their queen is in danger.

My sweet Orēo got stung by hundreds of wasps. She is a half Springer Spaniel and half Poodle. Those suckers wanted to sting her all over. Her thick curly fur saved her from many stings. They actually tried to burrow into her fur to sting her as much as they could. My husband saved her and got stung in the process. Thankfully they are okay. I am glad you are okay now. People watch out for the wasp especially this time of year. They very aggressive this time of year.

A cotton ball soaked in apple cider vinegar held on the sting immediately after sting neutralizes the sting. I do that and I could hardly tell where the sting was located. Didn't swell, but still itched a little.

You did a great job on this yard as always. That's a huge yard that you had mowed for your neighbors. That yard had to been at least several acres in size. Hopefully you won't run into anymore wasps or bees on the jobs that you do to help people out with their overgrown yards. Getting attacked & stung by that many bees/wasps is a nightmare coming true. Hopefully you'll be ok since you were stung so many times. Have you ever thought about keeping bee/wasp spray killer on hand, so you can defend yourself against getting stung by them?

Couple years ago when the pharmicutical Rep UP'D the prices, $ 4.000.00 per 2 pens- I can only get 2 pens a year here in AZ...When it's 117 or more degrees I wear a thick hoodie, if I've already used my pens. Trying to prevent any stings anaphylactic shock right away. Highly allergic.

Correction,,difference between wasps and bees....bees are our friends so we can have food as they visit a host of blossoms and flowers. Wasps and their ever increasing in size paperlike machee upside down hive Wasps aka yellow jackets, mud dobbers.will roll up the remains meat leftover from your eaten pork chop.,yes ROLL UP AND PLACE UNDERNEATH HIS ABDOMEN AND FLY AWAY &return for a repeat collection.

Same thing happened to me a few months back with wasps, dozens of them. The worst part was trying to brush them off, as they were clinging & stinging at the same time - horrible! Hope you didn't suffer an allergic reaction. You were great to take on this mammoth task.

I started keeping hornet spray nearby when mowing and trimming. I ran over ground nest and had a heck of a time getting my mower back, luckily I shut it off as I jumped and ran. Later that night I went back to push the mower away and sprayed the nest.

I have never been stung by bee or wasp, and I grew up on a farm. I would imagine the sting hurts pretty bad. But to have multiple bee stings, that's got to be really bad! Good thing you went to the hospital to get treated! I hope you are feeling better now! Neighbors helping neighbors is wonderful to really know your neighbors!!! That also happened in the farming community that I grew up in, in Iowa. That backyard was hugh!!! It will be so much upkeep for the owner. I hope they have some good plans for it! What I would do is walk the back area with a metal detector and see if you can spot more junk and mark it with a stick then just go dig it up. Hope youre doin ok after the bee stings. We had to do that with my uncles 3 acre property. All sorts of stuff buried out back.

We call yellow jackets wasps. A nest of them was under the veranda, every time the garage door was opened you didn't see them. The only reason we found them is because someone parking their motorcycle under the house, they said they could hear buzzing. When we checked their was a large nest of them. Needless to say, that night they were dealt with. You are a great neighbour Eric. Great job.😊
