Love your channel. I have learned so much. One of your older subscribers. Retired female. Love the Timex Marlin. It’s my dress watch. I have a beat up Timex Weekender on my vanity. Keeps excellent time but the second hand never hits the mark. For everyday, I wear a Bulova field watch, an automatic which runs fast & has an elegant seconds hand. I appreciate the 24 hour clock for my volunteer work at the airport & the luminescence in dim light. I recently purchased a Casio BGD-5650-1CJF for travel. I am saving my pennies for a Seiko Alpinist. Loved the. Hamilton Murph w/ the white face. Beautiful. Enjoyed hearing the histories.

My fiancee bought me a Citizen Corso as a present. Its accuracy is +/- 15 seconds per month, however I've noticed it rarely is off more than a few seconds in that timeframe. Part of the reason I like to sit outside every week is to get some early morning charging in. I love the watch and it's always getting compliments. I'm personally not crazy about Citizen creating what is effectively "fashion" trend watches, but the quality of my Eco-Drive watch can't be ignored. Thank you for always mentioning them positively.

Bulova states 262KHz on the dial, but more likely it's 262,144Hz, making it exactly 8x the frequency of most quartz watches. These numbers may seem arbitrary, but they're both powers of 2, making them nice round numbers in binary and easy for simple microcontrollers to count to.

I agree that these three brands have made strides to appeal more to enthusiasts. I own Citizen and Timex watches and look forward to a Bulova someday. My first Citizen I bought was an Eco-drive in titanium from over ten years ago. It was a daily drive along side a Tissot. I give lots of credit to Citizen for such a fine watch. At the time I was only looking for a titanium watch and the solar power function was just gravy. I have come to appreciate all the benefits of a solar power watch. This Citizen watch is still with me and works as well as the day I bought it. I have never done any maintenance on it whatsoever in over a decade of ownership. I have become a fan of Citizen ever since. I also want to mention that Citizen has many JDM models that are actually very appealing to enthusiasts. I just wish Citizen would bring many of those models to the US.

Great descriptions of those brands. Thank you. I have 17 watches in my current collection, Oris (1 used...love the bronze patina), Seiko (2...meh), G-shock (1 Rangeman), but really love my Citizens the most. I have Citizen autos and Ecos and love them all. My faves are the 300m anything and their Signature collection, despite their relative bulkiness (Grand Touring 4 pounder). I continue to enjoy looking-but-not-buying Longines, Tudor, Omega, Vaer, etc., but I can't seem to justify the cost over function by such a wide ratio compared to Citizen. I've never paid retail for any watch, but have enjoyed especially good bargains on the Citizens. Yes, the malls are full of them and ADs don't seem too keen on them when they stock higher priced brands. But Citizen watches can be elegant, simple, very sturdy, gaudy, silly, serious, and serve as very good tools for professionals. I just picked up another new Signature collection 300m for $277. MSRP is $795. That's 65% off, man! In the end, I would not bottom feed for any Citizen unless they were reliable, which they certainly have been for me.

Great video. As someone who mostly had Swiss watches, I first bought my wife a “mall” Citizen eco drive about 13 years ago when her Tag battery died and had to send it away for the typical expensive watch “maintenance” and was without it for a couple months. It worked fantastic (still does)…so when I was deciding on a “cheaper” dive travel watch that was automatic couple years ago, I decided to get the green Fugu. Love it. Such great value and looks good. Then earlier this year I really liked the Bulova blue Wilton GMT, and again have been very impressed with how it looks and performs (not a fan of the deployant clasp, but that’s easy to change!). I’ve looked at other bulovas and citizens (the green surveyor I think is underrated for the price!)…they still have a lot of not great designs, but there are a few that really stick out for their quality and value. That blood moon lunar pilot might be next!

The small seconds Marlins and Waterburies are classy and beautiful. Bulova needs to downsize a bit to 40 mm or less and shoehorn that Precionist movement in smaller cases. Citizen is getting closer and closer to the mark. I have one of their titanium ecodrives which I wore for ten years and now I need to replace the solar battery.
