I visit my favourite brand of yacht today at the yacht show - Riva. However whilst I love the yachts/boats, they have never been very receptive to me or the channel and have yet to allow myself or anyone from the channel onboard any vessel!

The Riva section is the best. My personal favourite is the 76 Bahamas Super. A super-sized daycruiser with a movable hardtop. Can't get much better than that.

My first Monaco boat show was in 2012. Everything was very chilled and I've been lucky enough to visit some of the big ones. 60m+ It was packed with people. Very crowded. Nowadays it seems like it's not so interesting anymore. The "vibe" is different. Antibes though is still amazing.

I'd be *totally fine* with new builds by Riva looking exactly like the old boats, with the same craftsmanship *and* having them be electrified. However even though I am a big fan of electric vehicles personally, there does seem something 'wrong' in a way about electrifying genuine vintage vehicles. A one off is a cool novelty but it seems almost a shame when it's diminishing the stock of genuine originals

Seeing the RIVA boats always reminds me of James Bond, but I just checked and in From Russia with Love it is definietly not a Riva boat i the final boat chase scene. There is something about their style that is so familiar, like a "default" boat for an era in mid 20st century. yet can't quite pin down what game me that familiaryty wioth the style.

You are doing a great job on your MYS 2023 coverage. You and your team must work nonstop on editing. With the price of the Riva table and chairs, I suggest buying IKEA and then do a DIY decoration or do a knockoff in Asia. You are allowed to have a drink and a bite to eat. Next year I strongly suggest picking the brokerage company that has been the most supportive of your issues and then not so quietly lobbying for an invite to the party. Bob Denison is known as yachting’s foremost Party Host at FLIBS and I suspect he also throws a shindig at MYS. I advise against trying to get an Imperial Yachts invite for obvious reasons.

It hacked me off when you said that guy wouldn't let you on his boat! So,I tell you what, you have an open invention next time you are in East-by-God-Texas to film/ride in mine. It's a 21 foot pro-drive with a 37hp mud motor, we will go out in the swamp get us a coupel of catfish get back start the BBQ grill, fry the fish and cook the boudain and drink some shine. When you are ready to go if you want the table or chairs heck I will help load them up for free.

No - I once had to pay for Canada Dry. The Company, $750m. I bought them in San Francisco in the wee small hours, and the next morning, had to tell the Bank of England the UK would be that amount short that day, so instead of a flat position, the UK's be that much short.

It’s an original 1961 Riva. Meaning they have many others that followed but these were the first models made.

Mate, at the end of every show like this there are deals to be done on things like tables and chairs. It's such a pita to repack, transport and store that it can be worth their while to get rid of it.

electric yachts not a bad idea - some of these older yachts do give of fumes - however I have an old electric van, got caught out 1km from home - completely stranded - guess you could have a spare battery pack or an emergency diesel generator maybe - first world problems I guess .....
