a bit funny when you see the story mode for smash ultimate and kirby is the only one that escapes galeem's attack and it almost seems like luck but kinda checks out all the youtubers that powerscale smash characters and basically confirm that kirby is indeed the most powerful being in smash universe

Fun fact I learned recently: butterflies are a symbol of death and decay apparently. They're drawn to corpses because they eat them. That's right. Butterflies EAT CORPSES.

Some cultures also consider them to be sort of soul sherpas, guiding those passed to the afterlife, like the "paradise judgement day" mentioned in the video. I'm from a Jewish family and my mother and grandfather talked about that with monarch butterflies specifically, which is a similar color to the Kirby butterfly, but it could totally be a coincidence and the specificity is just a them thing.

1. Fun Fact about Smash Bros.: Kirby’s controls are the most simplistic in all of Smash. You’re supposed to START as Kirby then work your way up to different characters with more complicated controls, and maybe find a character who suits your play style. 2. Susie’s bio was a tragic translation error. Mechanize means to introduce technology to people/places. So to explain Soul Bosses, the simplest explanation would be that Soul Bosses are undead versions of the regular bosses who have come back out of sheer vengeance for Kirby.

The not so simple explanation is that soul is a matter made and controlled by the god of death of the Kirby world morpho, and essentially when a character dies their souls sort of halfway merge with the complete essence of the Kirby Universe known as chaos, in this halfway merged State just before permanent death or permanent merge with existence itself, The souls of the Dead Kirby bosses become basically gods and are capable of doing some reality shattering feats.

One more thing that can be mentioned for the lore: Kirby's Return to Dreamland got a remake which came with Magolor Epilogue, which is Magolor trying to fight his way out of the afterlife after being defeated, and he finds gem apple slices that fuse into a giant tree thst he has to fight, which is also the Master Crown.

Shigeru Miyamoto stated that "Kirby" was chosen as the character's name in honor of American lawyer John Kirby, who defended Nintendo in the Universal City Studios, Inc. v. Nintendo Co., Ltd. case and that the harsh-sounding name contrasted amusingly with the character's cute appearance. Universal Studios claiming that Donkey Kong was an infringement on their copyrights to the movie King Kong .

The best part of Kirby is that it can be as simple or deep as you want it to be. Not only does that apply to the lore, but the gameplay as well. Kirby has always been a game designed to be incredibly simple for beginners to approach. Being able to fly forever, having the powerful copy abilities, and so on make it a great introductory to platform gaming. That said they've also become incredibly tough games to master and 100%. Those EX versions of bosses that you fight are no joke and can decimate even seasoned gamers. On top of that there's a ton of depth to learning and mastering each of the copy abilities which have massive and diverse movesets. It really is a great series for anyone, with no shortage of games to play. Seriously, 13 main series games and 4 great remakes. All of that without taking into account the TWENTY ONE spinoffs. Everything from puzzle games, tetris attacks, pinball, racing games, fighting games, RPGs, rhythm games, and even a Fall Guys clone. Kirby has it all.

The truth is Kirby games are pretty easy, but that's because you're playing as a god slaying all powerful being who cannot canonically die and technically just gives up and falls asleep if you get a game over. The only game he actually dies in is mass attack when a god of death tried killing him by sneaking up on him but FAILED and instead broke him into smaller killable pieces. Let me repeat that the GOD OF DEATH couldn't kill Kirby even when he ambushed him.

I can definently vouch for Mongers shout-out of Woolieversus's Kirby lore videos, and also on the topic of Woolie I have to mention his comprehensive Guilty Gear lore series too. Both series of videos are great. His Kirby series picks out a small handful of events and fleshes them out with some really dark presentation, while his Guilty Gear series covers nearly EVERYTHING for the purposes of getting people caught up on the story. Mongers video doesn't touch on it other than with Taranza and Susie, but one of my favorite things in the Kirby series is the character writing. Especially with Kirby himself alongside King Dedede and Meta Knight, all 3 of them are both bitter rivals and sworn allies simultaneously by this point in the series. King Dedede started out really sleazy and selfish, literally being a dictator, but after his interactions with Kirby and being so thoroughly outclassed by him it lit a fire in him to beat Kirby, which eventually led him down the path of self improvement. He came to earn his self proclaimed title of King. Meta Knight on the other hand was very sympathetic to Kirby from the very beginning, and it's strongly implied that whatever Kirby is, Meta Knight is likely the same type of being. Meta Knight believes strongly in chivalry, and nearly every time he fights with Kirby, regardless of if it's simply to spar or because they have something to settle, he always offers Kirby a sword before attacking him. In the first game Meta Knight debuted he was a secondary antagonist but he also watched over Kirby likely out of concern. They have a bit of a mentor student relationship. Meta Knight cares a lot about power, he wants to be the most powerful warrior in the galaxy, and that causes him to always be the first to jump into action to try to defend Dreamland whenever it's under siege. Dedede and Meta Knight are both super cool characters I like them a lot 👍 I compare the two of them and Kirby to Goku and Vegeta in my head a lot, except there's three of them instead of two, so maybe you could throw Piccolo in as the third for DBZ? Lol

I would like to point that the most recent kirby (Return to dreamland deluxe) added a new mode and more added lore to the kirbyverse so spoilers ahead if you care about it When kirby defeated Magolor, he and the master crown were sent to another dimension world and losing their power in the process. So he set out to regain his power to atone for his misdeeds and collecting apple crystal shards. Once he beats all the bosses (that are elemental variations of main bosses) the crowned doomer swoops in and tries to take all the apple shards, but is defeated promptly. But now another portal opens up and takes magolor and the apples shards with the master crown too and becomes a sentient powerful tree. Magolor faces and slices the tree in half with a ultra sword of his own and ends up in jumping into a portal to the Super kirby clash world. Which now makes those games cannon and to some extent Galacta knight (called Aeon hero)

Kirby lore is this deep because it’s been going on for so long. And Masahiro Sakurai (the same guy helped make Smash Bros) put this lore for the very dedicated fanbase. Gotta give something interesting for people that have been following the series. Because Kirby as a game series, has always been the most child-friendly thing to play in terms of how difficult the games can be. And the thing is, he also puts hard modes for those that want more out of their easy children’s game. I think you’re confusing Shigeru Miyamoto with Masahiro Sakurai. Sakurai is the creator of Kirby and Smash Bros. But also Sakurai, while he is the creator of the series, had little to do with the lore since he was only the director of 4 games, 3 of them being some of the earliest entries in the series while the 4th was a spin-off.

I hate to be that guy, but the lore is mainly the result of Shinya Kumazaki's involvement with Kirby after Sakurai left. He is very into cosmic horror and lovecraftian stuff and if you want to see something really interesting you should check out his art. He makes crazy cosmic horror style paintings that sometimes feature kirby characters. It really puts some of the wilder stuff in kirby games, especially newer ones into perspective.

Not always. Alchemy is a combo of science and magic. But science and magic isn’t always alchemy. Like Iron Man using a suit that had Uru, a magical metal. In Dishonored, the Overseers used math to figure out what sounds could cancel out the wavelength of magical energy. Once they did, they made a music box that can prevent you from using magic. Things like this is mixing science and magic, but it isn’t alchemy. Alchemy specifically uses chemistry and biology.

Hehehe, the Lore is pretty much the main thing that makes me interested in the Kirby Franchise, I really appreciate you reacted to these. But, if reacting to all of this at once were too much to handle, I recommend doing the What Is Kirby Canon? Series by Meteorz too at some point, might be easier to fully take in the Information that way. Hm, say, how about reacting to the Epic Mickey Files Series by ElectricDragon505 at some point too? Probably would be interesting.

Little fun fact. at one point the story director changed. the original story director, and game director as a whole, let his good friend who was well known as a HORROR ARTIST. take over the story. hes been in control of the story since "Return to Dreamland" which... is when the red butterfly started appearing.

I recommend watching all storybook scenes from Super Mario Galaxy, all memories from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, or all cutscenes from Wario Ware Gold. The thing with Kirby lore is, it actually is That Deep, but also there's a lotta misconceptions floating around the fandom- I've yet to see a flawless video on the lore, but that might be impossible anyway These videos right here are.... alright ^^ (misses some crucial stuff right at the start, like Kirby coming to Dream Land from outer space, and repeats some fandom errors, also might be a bit overwhelmingly scripted for newcomers, but it's alright enough)

Dude rambled too much without obvious breaks or good recaps to make sure information was retained throughout, he just kept tossing information in and going through minor points in between key ones. He really needed to be willing to take a breath every now and again.
