Great editing and content. Keep at it, and your channel is gonna take off. For the AK hand, we have narrowed his range quite a bit with the big flop sizing, so it is hard to have a ton of bluffs here. He has a ton of 6x and Qx, even with us blocking some KQ. I think we need to block more value, IMO. Ah/As are better.

I read about an old hand you posted in your twoplustwo and I got curious. Would you say I can call down river vs all oppnents in this spot or is this hand very opponent dependent? And would you have called if you didnt hit the J on turn? Action went like this.: Hero is BB with 4♠ J♠ 2 players fold, CO raises to $12.50, 2 players fold, Hero calls $7.50 Flop: ($27.50) 4♦ 6♦ 6♠ (2 players) Hero checks, CO bets $10.97, Hero raises to $35.96, CO calls $24.99 Turn: ($99.42) J♥ (2 players) Hero bets $67.49, CO calls $67.49 River: ($234.40) T♣ (2 players) Hero checks, CO bets $421.20, Hero calls $421.20 Showdown: CO shows 5♣ 7♣ (a pair of Sixes).

yoyo was this a hand i played? cus if i did, i'm not a fan at all looool. turn size makes little sense because i believe we wanna be more polar. Looks like i'm playing my hand a little bit. as played river looks good for sure. it would depend what the turn was for me to consider calling otr im afraid
@kezman82a7 ай бұрын
@@BenaBadBeatPoker thanks! Yes you played this hans in 2018 or 2019 :). So you saying we can call on rivers that not complete the draws vs all players? This is not player dependent at all? (Im trying to learn poker) Do we turn our hand into river bluff jam on any rivers? Thanx for your answer ❤️
@BenaBadBeatPoker7 ай бұрын
it’s a bit too hard to give you a solid answer but in short, it’s essential you only do this kinda thing vs players who you deem capable of bluffing. At micros, it could well be a torch vs plenty of players, but vs some it prints. Our exact hand probably never bluffs the river and we wouldn’t ever bet the turn for this size with a random 4x so we wouldn’t really have an opportunity to bluff. Hope that makes some sense
@jerradpawar56808 ай бұрын
Great first vid Ben! Subd. I wasn't a huge fan of the AhTd hand. I like the logic of the flop raise and given the wild cc range shifting to more x/r> than call seems good. Personally, not a huge fan of the turn barrel. Given fish there are a ton more 7x combos than a normal CC range, our Td blocks a bunch of his T9/T8 that fold turn (considering he'll probably have offsuit) as well as Tx bdfd that folds turn. When you get to the river I agree you probably just have to go with it but feels like a very sigh spot. A4ss was absolute perfection. 99 hand, think not shoving his AQ on river was very, very strange, he probably should shove every non sd combo. I get the human logic of maybe putting you on A3 or 76s but compared to the value combos def a torch. Would have died laughing if you bluffed 65s :D Excited to see more!
@BenaBadBeatPoker8 ай бұрын
yeah that was something i didn't mention in the video - T is a pretty poor card to hold. but when you consider the width of their range of all hands i mentioned, blocking some combos of T9 and T8 probably isn't _that_ detrimental. i hear what you're saying tho! yeah that's the thing, AQ will win here at least some portion. just lucky i had it this time haha

Would have to give AKo with Ks the punt tag. Also think you are correct about As being good but you have the wrong reason. You mention BU not bluffing his As floats OTR like AJs, ATs etc. This might be true but he also does not have any other Ax floats to bluff in the first place, so As can't possibly be better for this reason, at best it's neutral if BU never bluffs As (which he could at some frequency) The actual reason As is nice is because BU will be jamming turn over your barrel a lot of the time with his AQs, AQo, except AQo with As because he obviously blocks your bluffs, meaning we block more AQ OTR with As than other A. Since missed Ax FD from BU may very well bluff at some frequency river I would say As is roughly neutral in this spot, while Ks is unequivocally very negative.

thats a really thin valuebet with QJs by villain. Dont he thinks we check KQ here? Go for value with AQ and also check traps like QQ, KK, AA with no spades? Do we check call with KQ here with no spade vs. missed flushdraws? and yeah get owned by potential AQ by villain? Because his line is exactly what he had and I suppose he should check back river because we have traps: and hands that x call and beat his QJs. PS: really amazing chanell, dude! love to see the insights of highstakes regs and how they think about hands! great content! (from a 50 NL upcoming grinder here)

thanks mate! it does look like it's on the thin side perhaps, but in reality as you say i'm just shoving all my Qx otr at this spr. you could be right that there may be some AQ, but i do believe that i'll have far more bluff catchers/Ahi. if nothing else, this is a great exploit from ip
@sti-sta-steffenhille20825 ай бұрын
In my opinion I think your AK is a good bluff catch. But wouldn't most villains jam combo draws on the turn to realize there Eq and fold out hands like yours? If we think they do... we can eliminate some bluff combos so he raps more value then blüffs. Make that sense to you? Cheers from Germany wish you the best

@BenaBadBeatPoker8 ай бұрын
without a rakeback deal i honestly think that 98+% of regs will be flat out losing. if you have other games to play, then continue playing those tbh. unless you can get a good rb deal and grind leaderboards (but this is a pretty rough working life imo) then you can expect around 0.5-1bb/100 post rakeback. take that all with a pinch of salt though!

4:00 Why are you raising here, when you admit villain should be super wide here? To get value from draws? If you barrel turn here, he still calls with semi decent draws being in position, and then you have to shutdown alot of rivers? and put in a tough spot? by the way, absolutely love your content mate, outstanding stuff! 6:20 Once you decide to bluff this flop(and I like it because of the 0 backdoor potential plus range advantage), is it almost an automatic double barrel here except on A or K turns? The last hand? Im not good enough to fault you for calling here.
@BenaBadBeatPoker7 ай бұрын
hey! i mentioned the reasons for raising the flop were to cleanse 30-35% of IP's eq that auto folds flop. as for turn, we can definitely expect some folds from 1p holdings, it's not like their entire continuing range otf is going to call turn. hand2 - thanks! hmm i think i would still barrel on Kx some of the time. have to remember that we retain all out strong hands otf and the only hand they improve to is top set which is mega small part of the range. hand3 definitely suss from me but thank you haha

Epic content! Snap sub :) that what we need. Question, what bankroll you had to stay that big downswing? Of course you had some rakeback, so overall you lost idk 60/70k? How big roll you need to be alive on 1/2k? I have now big downswing too, same 35/40bi on nl100 and i thought 50/60bi is Sage but now i swe you can lose it in 2/3weeks... When i want Play for a livling on nl100 and my monthly spendings are 15bi, volume 60/80k hands its 100bi safe or not?
@BenaBadBeatPoker7 ай бұрын
hey mate - thanks! good question. I don't really use BRM as much these days as I've built up a good roll over the last 10-15 years. that said, i am a big advocate for frequent and low buy-in shot taking. so for example if you have 50bi for 100nl, i'd look to shot 5bi at 200. if you lose that 5bi (including if you lose 10bi at 100 during your shot) i'd move back down to 100nl only to rebuild and shot again. the danger with only ever shotting the next stake with 100bi is that you can cap your earning potential. while this feels safer, it's certainly -ev longrun imo. feel free to ask any more questions - will be happy to answer! glgl

So in the AKo hand why do you want to call with a spade suit on the river? Wouldn't it better to not have that one, because then they could bluff with a missed fd? And again in the punt hand, why would it better for AQo to call with a spade suit?
@BenaBadBeatPoker8 ай бұрын
yo! i think you mean why would i want to call the As on the river? The reason you'd like to hold it is because IP won't want to bluff their missed Ahi flush draws. therefore when we have it in our hand, it allows IP to hold more cards that will bluff. As for the AQ i'm not sure i said it would be best for them to call with a spade!
@Xrty-z2s8 ай бұрын
ATs hand the xR on flop def. not standard or great bcz the fish has like 35 combos of trips compared usual cold call range that has like 1-2 combos in practice so you def. want to stay off from xR and play whole range that continues as a x/C (except A7s, K7s and 66 which can obviously do this play) then his sizes on turn will full signal what he has, playing like this we set ourselves to bluff on bad spots mostly. thanks for the feedback! while i agree that they will cc a lot more 7x pre, that will also mean they have a whole host of other trash hands that we deny vs with our xr. having the Ah reduces flop floats too from ip. that said i can certainly be convinced that this line is too spew and unnecessary hahaha

Thoughts on the data that Matt Berkey showed on his podcast where only 1 player was profitable on gg poker playing up to 200nl before rakeback??

Pro playing must just be pure pressure every hand. Not going to lie, quite a few of them hands you lost I'd never have went for the bluff. But you're a pro and I'm not so I can't really argue

definitely important to have a mind of your own when it comes to poker mate! i'll be making plenty of mistakes but it's about making as many good decisions as possible too haha.

Some issues I see. 1). I understand your playing " what makes most money over time" theory, but the guy is never folding trip 7's or a flush and if you know that and put him on it, you are just donating at that point. Only other reason is to buy you some advertising as a river bluffer , tho that may not be needed at that time. 2). Last hand the guy called you with A high because he obv put you on the Draw. Really makes no sense for you to flat on the Turn. Unless the guy spews off on rivers, you ideally want to reraise to build the pot and protect vs flushdraws.

I’m definitely not trying to make them fold trips or a flush! I shared that ofc they’ll have some trips and flushes but the one pair region (given splashy opponent) will all likey turbo fold. If villain is calling too wide ott (which was my assumption) then river shove will massively over realise. as for hand 2, we don’t wanna play raises with sets that are invulnerable here. the idea of ‘protecting vs flush draws’ isn’t really relevant because those hands make up a significantly small portion of their range after what is likely close to a range bet ott. appreciate your feedback!

I don't think last hand is too much of a punt from him, 87,67 can easily be around 5-6 combos together, you can trick yourself into turning Asx into bluffs too, so I'd say 8 combos of bluffs are definitely in you range. Do you have >24 combos of value. I don't really think so. Maybe 10 sets,3 two pair, 2 straights, 7-8 Kx. I count 22-23.
@BenaBadBeatPoker7 ай бұрын
big fan of this comment because we aren’t just taking what the solver says as gospel. totally agree on the first 5-6 combos but I gotta say that I’m quite certain I wouldn’t bluff nfd’s. Also have a few more 2p depending on preflop frequency. All that said, and I acknowledged this in the video, it’s not a totally unreasonable call. But I do still believe it loses. Probably not as much as the solver says, but still a decent clip!

@@BenaBadBeatPoker with this SPR especially, it becomes really tricky what you bluffcatch because most of the bluffcatchers prefer to go all-in, exception being 88. So, villain might think that you know that as you said when he checks, it's auto x/f most of the time cause of no need to maintain MDF for x/c with this SPR as OOP, hence you might be bluffing a bit more (Axs into bluffs) and this case AQ is a bit better than 88 maybe. Still frequency call at most, obv.
@BenaBadBeatPoker7 ай бұрын
@@ethanr0x definitely can’t argue with that! villain indeed did believe I would overbluff but fortunately I wasn’t 🤣

Correct me if Im wrong wouldn't you have still profited from rake though? Or is 5kNL and 10kNL considered VIP or whatever? 50% rakeback over this sample would still be a winning player. I mean a shitreg but none the less. I mean that with all respect. Love your content with Nick

yoyo. nope i didn't profit after rb because i was hemorrhaging bi's like there's no tomorrow haha. i earned roughly half the losses in rb iirc. i am confirmed a proper shit reg thus far on gg

The last hand why are you suprised when he called your shove and said aq "no spade" Wouldnt he be more likely to call without a spade because you have more flush draws? you said that you check all of your flush draws for more ev? confused lol
@BenaBadBeatPoker6 ай бұрын
he is more likely to call without yes but I can’t hold the Qs cus it’s either QTss for a straight or a paid that i check. I don’t bluff the As ip though so it would be better for them to hold that card because it unblocks more bluffs
