Thanks for the update on the brake ducts for Z51. My dealer didn’t install any of the parts. I am going to have them install everything but the rear ducts. This is just one more reason to watch the vlog. Keep them coming, Rick!

Another good Tech Tip on the Z51 rear ducts old saying is "always read the directions when all else fails" it happens. Like the Rapid blue color exterior and interior sharp looking car hope to see it uncovered. Nice ride segment Rick. Have great day Tom from SC.

Saw that video last week, I believe they said the air duct picked up a piece of paper and it was touching the rotor which is how it caught fire. Great tip 👍 Rick & Chuck and the Graphics help out a lot. Always a learning curve.

Hi Rick and Chuck. I don't want to start any trouble, but when I was a tech, the PDI sheet was a guide and was to be filled out as you performed the PDI. Not after it was completed.

I saw a black C8 Z51 in Silicon Valley. It hides the beautiful lines! I'm still debating either Elkhart Lake blue 3LT Tension Blue Interior Z51 or Z06 w/Z07 package. 30k more with Carbon Revolution wheels. HOWEVER, it will run with & BEAT, the big dogs (GT2RS & 458)

I had a similar experience on I95 here in Florida at speed ran over what turned out to be a small burlap like bag ... it got snagged on the brake duct and unknowingly I drug it for miles before I could literally see in my rear view that the bag had unwound and was bouncing along behind my car - made my way to the shoulder of the highway and it was caught on the passenger side brake duct

Hi rick. Question I ordered a 2020 2 lt. Back in sept 2019 and it went to status 3000 1 week before covid shut down n the corvette concierge tells me to check back every three weeks which I do every three weeks and still stuck on status 3000 I got this at a dealer in Bluffton sc just out side of Hilton head island sc my question to you is have you been getting in any cars that you ordered around the same time that I ordered mine in September 2019 have any of those cars come in yet just trying to get a sense of when I should be receiving mine or at least getting a production week notification on it thank you Rick just getting very frustrated at this point lol as 3/4 of year is gone! I would add a wire grill to the brake ducts to prevent large debris from entering it and possibly catching fire. Should be a very easy mod. For track use only of course, race tracks have paper trash as well.

How is it that I did not order a car; my local dealers had no allocation because their allocations were sold out? Yet I not only was able to obtain a C8, it has the unobtainable high wing spoiler and the 5VM carbon ground effects kit on the car and both were dealer installed accessories. And it is an LT2 version with race seats and Z51, magnetic ride, front axle lift dual central carbon flash racing stripes. Letting it down a little is the body color option on the boomerang and rear vents. Makes it a bit different. I always forget to mention the trident gray machine face wheels. And I've already had a warranted battery. There seems to be an electrical problem or short in the car. The radio is not going to be replaced according to the dealer. A whole bunch of things don't work on the car. However, thus far, the driving experience has not been muted except for the rear cross traffic warnings. Now Rick. I write in quite a bit. Here is one more item regarding the frunk lid flying up forcing a panic stop and dmaging the corvette quite a bit. I figured out that a lot of guys have opened their frunks and engine rear lid. Here is what happens to the owners, because it happened to me except that I knew what happened and did my checks, so no accident. This can happen if your attention is divided, or even if it is not divided. It most certainly happens when people use their Corvette key to open their frunk and rear trunk/engine lid. If at the back of the car and you attempt to open the engine lid with the key and for some reason, miss and accidentally open the frunk with the key button. Then lookig at the rear engine lid and noticing that it didn't open the owner looks at the key and then opens the rear engine lid. The owner then puts something in or takes something out of the trunk, or checks the engine oil or does some cleaning. He then finished his task. He closes the trunk and the motor takes the rear trunk lid down to closed. The owner jumps into the car and drives off and suddenly, the frunk lid opens and there you have it. This apparently includes the fact that the owner did not notice the warning message or tones. As for the brake ducts on the Z51's that was a thorough and comprehensive discussion. Excellent vlog! Plus throwing in the to wins in a row. Also in the photos with the giraffe with smiling lady C8 owner, I noticed the wheel change. Very tasty and tasteful -- the wheels. AF

I have never seen this before and I am wondering what kind of tampering causes the theft-deterrent system to go off. Is it true you need to put 2 extra quarts of trans fluid to be able to do donuts on a C8? They say that if you do donuts a check engine lights turn on. And by putting the trans fluid fixes that is that true???

GM historically has had problems with Corvette suppliers, especially exposed carbon fiber parts. They need to fire their asses and get suppliers that can meet the demand and quality standards. I’m sure there are companies out there that would love to have a Corvette contract. Enough is enough guys.

Sounds like GM proofers didn't do their job to make sure that information got on to the flyers that came with the car, GM fault for sure. When your pressed to get it done why should their be contradictive paper work. Didn't say anywhere in the PDI to leave lower scoops off track use only but everything else to that specific assy was to be installed. The info was only found through research. Not in the paper work that came with the car..
