A parent can have a deputy juvenile officer assigned to their child. That used to come with a incurrigible check list. Even if the infraction was not cleaning their room, that gets a checkmark as incurrigible behavior. After so many, they can spend a night in juvi, depending on the DJO or the parents. @@earlenedrake4719 Real talk. My son was... problematic. Zero discipline worked on him. That is until we had him assigned a DJO. His life-changing incurrigible infraction was giving a fellow 5th grader the finger. Police showed up at his school after the school called his dad. My husband said "Take him to jail." One night in juvi changed the course of his life. Became very honorable. Now 34 yo, he's my joy. Incredibly responsible and just an overall good man. Even graduated from college and is still using those skills. Maintains a great relationship with his boss and coworkers. We tried stickers for good behavior which would result in rewards at the end of the week. Writing sentences as discipline (that's what my mom did and it worked on me) Explaining. Following through with consequences. Hell, spanking wasn't effective. That one night in juvenile detention? Priceless.
