Did you not have a problem with the Obama administration using the IRS, DOJ and FBI to undermine and punish his political opponents? Those familes that remained either supported the lairds new goals fully, or had already moved to the cities. The lairds were British UK supporters to the core, kept all the land to themselves, so the politics that evolved after 1855 and in the 20th century is quite different than Scotland before 1840 and quite different to the goals of Scots now in America. My cousin I wish you well in your endeavors to separate from England, but of my cousins I've met, the political temperament is the polar opposite of Scottish Americans today.
