My elder brother has been getting dates and dates for six years from court to get divorce, he has his wife's call recording in inappropriate manner with someone else, but he didn't get a chance to provide it in court, finally proposal of mutual divorce was proposed and signed by both parties, she took 10 lakh ₹ as alimony but didn't show up in court to sign papers second time, when we approached her, she blatantly refused to come to court, now mutual agreement would be nullified and we have to file a different case in a different court to get our money back.

Law is not wrong, corruption and long judicial system has caused this harassment. Any law can be misused. If men ( and women) think this should not happen to them. They should fight to weed out corruption and follow law. Even force judiciary to give out justice on time. This law was made to help women who were harassed in 1970-80s and many died due to dowry harassment. Its unfair to say that their death not important as the death of Atul Subhash.

This is wrong analogy . Women are also educated but inlaws do demand she should leave her job to take care of them and do household chores. Also, after having babies, lot of work does to women alone and career also suffers. I suggest man should 'talk' to women and understand her aspirations and way of life before marrying her. Marry only if aligns with your goal. Most men marry woman looking how beautiful she looks without understanding her as a person. Not that all beautiful women would do it. But you need to understand her as a person and what her desires are rather than giving importance to material things
