I honestly believe it's because she's still physically maturing - over a year of constant stress as a youth delayed and/or stunted her growth. It happens with humans, no reason it couldn't also happen to an Otter with PTSD. Now that Ui has calmed down and gets good sleep (and is still young enough), the hormones are finally working as they should be, albeit 6+ months late. But that's just my hypothesis. I'm not a zoologist or a shrink. 🤡←(me)

Yeah, Odashi needs to lose at least a kilo. As for Princess "Big H" Hana… well… I love her but she is a glutton and she is lazy. Yet, that's part of her charm.

Ui _IS_ much happier now. And her original owner is ANGRY about it. S.O.B responded to me, calling her obese and insisting Otterman "listened to [his] advice" about whatever. He also insisted I didn't know what I was talking about regarding the physical effects of stress. This is the same guy who openly demanded Ui be euthanized and _then_ called her a nuisance on a video of her & Aty playing (which Aty had initiated). Dude is really losing it… 🙄

Otterman was given you by whomever this guy is bc he couldn’t handle her, he begged otterman to fix her (or take her bc he was obviously too damn lazy to do the work himself!) and otterman did just that and soo much more! I don’t care what anyone says....otterman is the absolute best otter owner I’ve yet to see, taking care of those otters the right way if they are to be pets. Second for me would be the kotsumet family. In terms of other things I’ve seen on here, the Loutre cafe or whatever it is, is also my number 1 pick as far as that category goes. All I know is this...I love otterman and his beautiful family. He is amazing at what he does, he missed his calling for work with animals but Im sure he’s content with his life as it is. I wouldn’t want anyone helping otters like ui besides otterman or someone identical to him. That’s just me. And to add a little correction, Ui's life is some random otter cafe then bad previous owner then Northern Mishima then Otterman. Could that person be the bad owner? Possibly. Or they could just be some person who gets their rocks off to this sort of thing. Either way I just start to report them. As for other otters, please remember that where Kotaro and Hanna live is the COVID red zone and since otters can get COVID it's very important to keep them safe. I am sure that once things calm down they will be able to go on walks. Otters have a very high metabolism so it is a bit hard to maintain with or without exercise.

Ui-chan is slender because she's still a growing girl (extreme stress like she had is known to delay/stunt growth). 🥰 I won't second-guess a vet. Yet, given how long Aty is for his species, 3.9kg _feels_ underweight even though it isn't. Even in the rainy season, Captain Aty is mostly muscle - no wonder he doesn't like Daddy calling him fat! 😂 Otterman cares about his "kids". For a good example of an _actual_ obese otter, see Aty's failed flame Princess Hana.

アティはがっちりかと思っていた。ちょっと前ににゃん先輩もアティも4,2キロと見かけたよ。にゃん先輩はスリムだね。家は愛猫男の子で5,5キロ。おデブではなくでかくて筋骨隆々男子です。一時期5.8 キロはさすがに筋骨隆々マッチョすぎましたがいまはちょい細身マッチョかな？カワウソも猫も個体差ありますからね。
