Kids are all grown up so no 4-H stock for us. But it is still nice to see our cattle with there baby’s in the spring. So just keep ranching.

Farmer John!! I've been a farmer my whole life and wouldn't change anything!! That's awesome for the kids to have 4H animals! I did 4H and loved it!! Stay safe!!

Just went to a consignment auction. No bargains to be had, with one exception - the old Deere hay rake I was tasked to purchase. 400 bucks. Also got a pair of forklift forks. And a big cup of coffee for a dollar. 👍

under ordinary conditions .... the type of auction makes a difference on prices. if a farmer is going out of business or it is and estate sale will demand a higher price than say a bankrupts sale. because one the proceeds go to the farmer and the other goes to the bank. If the bank is getting the money then many farmers will say a bad word about 'the man' and low ball the auction. a consignment sale is different. with the lockdowns nothing is ordinary. Even new equipment is scarce so auction prices are elevated
