Thank you for the positive honest feedback, it means a lot that good people like you have my back & support! I probably never met most of my audience/supporters/viewers in person, but just by reading comments, I already get good vibes from people like you. And one day I'd like to meet y'all in person, talk hangout & have fun. And for the record, I don't get offended when someone tries to hurt my feeling by hating on me or my car, I simply just get annoyed. That's it, it's very annoying that people have the bold courage to say negative things/lies over the internet, but in person it's completely different if ever an encounter would ever occur in person (which has happened) especially when most of them cannot do the things I can do. Like i'm not the average joe on the internet looking for fame/clout or be famous or whatever. I'm only here to share my journey with my cars with the good progress, the useful knowledge I provide with fun & joy.

If I have both love and hate, then I know at least I am doing something right for me lol, it is what it is. I don't get offended by it, I just get really annoyed easily when people try to put me down, because I'm thinking why... smh. Anyways thank you for your support it really means a lot that people like you still haven't given up on me and this crazy dream I have to continue going forward. Because 2 years is a lot but it really means a lot that still 2 years later y'all are still with me in this journey. It's not about me or the car at this point, it's about not giving up no matter what brick wall comes my way, I'll always find a way to get what I want to pursue!

In 2015 to 2017 (as shown in my very old youtube videos) I knew that I can bolt up the DL501 OB5 US spec S4 transmission which is the same as the Euro Spec Version of the A4, A5 & Q5... But since the DL382 B9 DSG came out during the time of this project, I wanted to try something new & of course it failed because the mechatronics & wiring of the B9 platform VS the B8/B8.5 are different, thus I'll have the B8.5 S4 DSG that I originally wanted although it would have been nice to have the B9 DSG operating

The B8.5 Transmission handles more than the DL382 0CL (limited to 300hp).. Why would you want to do that?
@MotorHeadTech3 жыл бұрын
Because that's another record I'll break if it was possible (long story) but I was still going to finalized my build with the DL501. I've always wanted to have the DL501 since way before my car became a project. I have proof & videos that came out in 2015.

99.9% done, been waiting for over a year on whose able to disable the immobilizer on my imported ECU. Not alot of high skilled people who can achieve that, so we'll see. Not giving up, with a standalone ecu, I would have had my car driving for over a year by now. DSG & TCU are good, that was easy. Almost there!

The dl501 transmission works, as for the engine & ecu, it's been 6 months since i dropped off the simos 18 ecu to have the immobilizer completely disabled in order for me to start, run & drive the car. I'm 99.9% done, once i get mt ecu back (anytime soon) that will be it!!

@@MotorHeadTech Thats cool! Btw i just had a silly question. What if i just bolt the DL501 without the quattro rear part and expect it to work like an FWD? What will and will not go wrong? I just dont think i need the quattro part since i doesnt rain or snow that heavily in my place. Also, ive been told told that 1.8T CJEB has some power limiting feature since its supposed to be paired with the 0aw (or the 6spd). If im going to make a DL501 swap, can i still use this engine and remove the limitations?
@MotorHeadTech2 жыл бұрын
Well currently that's what I did, i didn't fully convert to quattro becuse i wanted to break a record for the 1st front wheel drive A4 B8/B8.5 with a dsg just for fun, then i convert it to quattro since I have the quattro system ready to be installed. So yes you can run the dl501 on fwd, you'll just see the output shaft spinning (since quattro is not installed). As for the limitations on the 1.8t the limitation is the engine, the 1.8t cant really handle that much power on a stock block & stock head you need to shead alot of money to make that particular build feasible to run right. You'll have alot of torque but not alot of power. If you want to make extra power you'll have to upgrade your turbo, Pistons, rods, fuel injectors and so much more. That engine is basically an A3 8v engine pushing 180hp, you can get these 1.8t engines to pass 300hp but it's very costly especially for a front wheel drive
@MotorHeadTech2 жыл бұрын
Preferably the car you have in mind with the 1.8t longitudinal engine (assuming it'll be stock, with no performance mods) will work with the dl501, but it wont be that powerful. It will just feel like a 2015 a3 1.8t
@ahmadhuzaifahahmadfauzi2 жыл бұрын
@@MotorHeadTech Wow that is indeed a record. If i may ask, what does and doesnt work? Is the ABS fine? Are the front drive shaft from the 0aw compatible with the DL501? What about the handling? Yep 1.8T wasnt really a beast and im fine with that. Anything sub 300 ponies im cool with that. I just wanna get rid of the cvt crap. Thanks for the confirmation and lengthy write up, really appreciate.

I have a B8 A4 with the ZF 6 speed auto, really good transmission but the gearing is awful so I decided that I will do a transmission swap later on, I was between the 7 speed DSG and the ZF 8 speed, but I came to the conclusion that the ZF 8 speed is the better choice, easier to install, easier to find tunes, better gearing, smoother shifts and it’s a more reliable transmission, it’s going to last longer
@MotorHeadTech2 жыл бұрын
I mean you essentially have the same transmission found in the C7 S6 and the D4 S8, the ZF6 (i think a newer generation or revision compared to the B8 A4 ZF6), those handle man power especially with the tunes involved! As for the B8.5 Quattro models, they come with a ZF8 as you seem to be aware of it, the transmission are really good but I don't think they are as good as the newer version of the( ZF6 morely pertaining to the S6 and S8 models with the ZF6.) If you look into the DL501 Gen 2 PWW transmission code, this one comes with torque vectoring, which essentially is what makes the quattro the quattro. In a B8.5 S4 for example since it comes with it from factory (the 7 speed dsg) there is one found inside the transmission and one found in the rear differential resulting in an amazing launch as well as an insane amount of torque, driveability and handing. Plus I know I can hit well over 800hp and torque without blowing up thr transmission, there's already people pushing well over 800hp on these stock dsg's found in the S4 with no problem. The B8 S4 came with a DL501 Gen 1 which had alot of mechatronics failures and when the B8.5 S4 came, that car was hands down one of the best cars out there to drive and still is. That's why the S4 B8.5 still hold it's value and double that if manual. And for that very same reason is why i went with a DSG, i got the whole 9 yards with the entire undercarriage of the car (quattro system). I went and bought an entire Sport Quattro system to mate it all up. Now that's some background as to why I picked what I got. If the generations of your B8 ZF6 is different than the C7 S6 or D4 S8, you might be really impressed with those transmissions newer gen zf6 transmissions. My buddy had an S6 & S8 well over 800hp both with amazing launch control and torque, despite how heavy the cars were (even posted a few videos of their cars on my channel over the years). But I do know those Zf8 transmissions found in the B8.5 A4, A5, Q5 etc are very good. I have the Zf8 in my Q5 B8.5 and it's great, I've personally prefer that longitudinal DSG transmission like my DL501 over the ZF's. In terms of reliability both the ZF8 and the DL501 Gen 2 are the same. I guess it all comes down to what quattro engine it is paired to.

@@MotorHeadTech hey thanks for all the info, yes I do get what you say about the 7 speed DSG, I really love both honestly, for me I think it’s gearing, the ZF 8 speed has better gearing, and it’s also cheaper to do maintenance on, but the 7 speed DSG is just the 7 speed DSG, it’s an amazing transmission, specially in the R8 is just lightning quick, honestly this is something that still has me thinking, why the B8.5 S4 has a DSG and the A4 a ZF 8 speed, and the B9 S4 has a ZF 8 speed and the A4 a DSG, what could be the reason 🤔, I still don’t know if I should keep going with this car B8 A4 or just pass and get a B8.5 S4 or maybe a B9
@MotorHeadTech2 жыл бұрын
Well the reason Audi ditched the DSG is because the technology of the ZF transmissions got so much better that all the high end S Model and RS Model cars ended up getting just that, meanwhile some cars like the R8 and TTRS still get the beefed up DSG, while furthermore the A4 B9 only recieved a max torque spec of 400 nm on the DL382 transmissions, (Audi made them less beefer) so that transmission can't really handle the power that a heavily modified S4 B9 put out, that's why they went with a ZF8. Meanwhile the DL501 found in the S4 B8.5 was hands down an amazing transmission (still is) the problem Audi had is that it is really expensive to make and maintain. Many resellers like on ebay that sell these DL501 transmissions have them listed at very expensive prices, just a new original mechatronics will cost more than an entire used working DSG itself. Crazy right! Audi wanted to simplify things and make them more affordable for them to build and so on. Anyways it'll all up to what you plan to do with this information, i like crazy projects and I would say if you have the budget of $4k minimum to buy a ZF8 transmission, get the wiring harness pinned out correctly, maybe even reprogram or replace the ECU with the right values for the ZF8 transmission and if youre spending money on labor. Then go for it, if it is truely what you want no matter the cost, time & headaches lol. If you just want a faster better more reliable car get a B9 S4 with the ZF8 already in there

Agreed, thank you for your input! It's actually possible but requires way too much money, time & knowledge at that point, which is where I actually draw the line since it's not worth it and go back to the original route that I have mentioned back in 2015 to 2017 which is the S4 DSG. lol
