Clutch failure, killing the gearbox on audi A5 3.0 TDI

Umm. What was the customer complaint because a friends A5 is making some odd noise can’t be heard in engine bay but can be heard in the car.

VeriuNetwork check the flywheel, front driveshafts. Visit the workshop.

Hi there I have the same problem with my 2008 A5 3.0 tdi, I can see the cut marks in the bell housing and play in the NSF dive shaft. Can you please advise what parts need to be replaced ? I would be grateful for you input cheers

Hi David, actually all the things we have done it was replacing the gearbox to another. Also new complete clutch kit with flywheel. I hope you can fix the broken gearbox housing in the workshop if it needed. In this video the main thing i wanted to show is the how bad story can be with broken clutch pressure plate.... just like cut knife...this audi was running, just vibrations, especially on the 1st gear. I was talking with Sachs specialist, he said that never seen it before.

Thanks Vlad, I knew I had had clutch issues as 1st and reverse were difficult to select when stopped. I looked down inside the engine bay and seen the slots the same as yours. My gears are notchy but work ok when moving do you think the gear box would need replacing or just new clutch ? and do think the housing which is exactly the same as yours would ok to use or would it need welding or replace ? apologies for all the questions I just don't wont to spend a ton of money and its still nackered. cheers

Tai cia sankabos problema buvo? Nes pas mane jei pirma pavara pajudu svelniai kaip ir nieko, bet jei greiciau noriu tai be 2k apsuku neisvengsiu vibracijos

Taip,sankabos. Vibracija tik dėl smagračio, siūlau nedelsti, video medžiagoje matosi kokios smagios būna tolimesnės pasekmės.

Only bolts. You dont need to remove starter at all.

Yes, it was some vibration on the 1st gear, thats all.

Vlad Zvolski the problem starts sins I change the chuch. The forgot to put that washers behind the bearing and that bearing starts to have that play between housing and bearing.

Cristian Ricu there is many moments you can make a mistakes with this clutch and transmission. Happy you fix the problem ;)
