the s600 and the 760 are great im not gonna lie. i think the 7 series are beautiful cars in and out, though im not as into the s class styling. but the a8 is just bar none the most gorgeous of them all. especially the w12 as shown!!

The A8 of that generation was just fantastic, we had 2 of those (one first series, one of the later years) in the family. Even though it was definitely inferior to the BMW and the Mercedes in many aspects, it was very nicely made and finished, a good solid and satisfying product. The BMW was extremely ugly and the Mercedes had severe quality issues, so those things outweighed (in our opinion) the Audis relative lack of comfort and refinement. The large Plus on the A8 was the utterly enormous space in the front, rear and trunk - in this regard it was miles ahead of its competition. We had the V8 Diesel on both cars which was also better than the competing engines from BMW and Mercedes that were down on power or reliability. If one wants an unpretentious, yet still nice looking luxury car and can find one of these A8s in good shape, its definitely an option to consider. Many were not well specced, so thats an additional gamble, but basically you only want the Bose or B&O audio system, heated seats, long wheelbase and extended/full leather package. Skip the (useless) seat massage and also the Rear Seat Entertainment that is pretty much unusable with todays electronics anyway (same goes for TV reception). Absolutely ignore the V6 gas engine as that is very unreliable, eats the hair off your head and can barely move the car, I would also advise against the W12 which is too heavy and generally not a good engine. The V8 gas is a good sweet spot. I would advise against Diesels as their large weight and torque will have deteriorated the substance of the cars a lot by now, also assuming that less care gets put into used cars the older they get.

Mercedes-Benz and Audi are excellent cars. Mercedes-Benz is a LITTLE bit more sporty, but I think Audi is a LITTLE bit more luxurious. BMW's I'm not as excited about. My favorite Audi is the R8 (obviously). Absolutely excellent car. My favorite Mercedes-Benz is the CLK63 AMG (obviously). Another excellent vehicle. All three makes are semi-luxury, not quite as luxurious as Cadillac or Lexus, but they are well-built. I think Audis are doing a little better in fuel economy, too. All three are good.

idk if you germans have a different spec for w220 than the rest of the world, but the one that i know, in 2000-2001 w220 s600 uses v12 5.8l engine and since 2002 they're equipped with v12 5.5l twin turbo engine. none of them ever fitted with a precisely 6l engine except for the amg version

Everyone knows that the Audi is the best car. It's the least expensive, most fuel-efficient, has the most standard features, and has the best ride quality and handling. It's also sexy as hell.
