If it's not adjusted right and causing undue stress on it, it will fail again. More money for the garage as you'll buy another and pay them again. Not fun

Did you take the lights out to clean them? Do u need to take the bumper off? I have a BFM 4.2

Related to this can you show us how to change the motor which closes the lid? As I presume the motor can't be fixed once it's worn.

Youre in luck im replacing the motor on my S8 this week. The one that opens and closes it. Better to replace the motor with updated model (metal casing) 2008+ This video is the latch motor , not boot lid. Only the soft latch

@@ihussain5335 You need high end scanner to tell the battery management the battery is new and to relearn it's capacity. Otherwise you'll kill batteries. You MAY have another issues like a bad starter ground or battery cable but it cant work right until you code the new battery to the system. New batteries have a BEM code printed on them that youll need to enter

the cable could have snapped in the latch and motor that pulls it down. As for opening and closing do you have the updated spring loaded pins or either side? The trunk will also be very heavy if the struts are weak

@@MrSicwitit2008 Yes, if you find the cable broken you ll need a new module or if you are handy, install a bicycle brake cable back in yours
