The E-tron looks better imo inside out,. Love that it uses buttons for the AC too. I've been eyeing on a totally different beast, the RS6, but now I'm not sure anymore 🤔

Wonnderful & complete analysis of the two cars. While similar in many ways, I find the Audi to be the better choice...the front grille of the Porsche, I just plain despise, from an esthetic point of view. Now... at $ 379,000 MSRP for the Porsche & the Audi "slightly less"...No, the market for a powerful four-door electric at this price point won't sell well in the long term. If Tesla is any sort of benchmark for this market, people will be buying four-year-old Tesla P100Ds' for the prescribed $40K...At these prices, one can buy a fleet of these Teslas' for the price of ONE of these Audis'. Oh sure, individuals who are always intent on buying the latest, newest of vehicles will always be there to exploit, but it is these new-car buyers who will absorb the crazy depreciation. The key is to sell the car while the "Fire is hot" & not along that sloping depreciation curve.

Cars are becoming a lot more like computers these days, in terms of life cycle. What's current (no pun intended) will be dated in a few years.

@@WestCoastSupercarsandClassics If indeed the auto industry is following this computer/phone example, it would represent a fundamental paradigm shift in how they conduct business. I have in my possession a Motorola StarTAC phone and a Hewlett Packard computer....both function OK, but the phone runs on 2G ,& the computer has 5 GB of memory, not even enogh to run any sort of browser. This is akin to a 1996 or earlier car rendered fully inoperative to its primary function. Imagine if you will some fellow fawning over his "classic" Taycan, polishing it up for a drive & his onboard systems suddenly render his pride & joy inert because it is "No longer supported". Is this the future we have to look forward to?

@@AndieBlack13 Considering Apple is going to produce a car, and that eventually we'll have self-driving cars, I'd say yes, that's going to be a good piece of the puzzle. Making cars more easily recyclable will become more important, and it can be done - you can get completely 'vegan' interiors now, and those materials can be reused; the metals can be recycled obviously, and so can the battery packs. So it's entirely possible to shorten the life cycle, and maybe the smartest way to deal with obsolescence.

Nail on the head Ricardo, we're watching GM release a "new" Bolt...same platform, same software, same battery, same motor. What exactly is new enough to bring a buyer to it rather than a gently used bolt at a huge discount....absolutely nothing. The auto manufacturers need to take the computer model, update OTA, and only release a new car with SIGNIFICANT hardware improvements. Follow Tesla, make your car as efficient as possible. Refresh = new Autodrive hardware, improved graphic interface, improved range. New body style = New batteries, new motors, greater range and performance. Leave the old refresh cycle in the garbage bin At the moment, I'd rather buy a house and a used P100D or used Performance model 3 over a new Porsche or new Audi. I applaud their adoption of the technology, but this ridiculous badge premium simply won't do.

@@MrMduchesne23 I respectfully think you're missing the point about 'badge premium' here. Porsches are expensive, regardless which model you buy, but you're getting one of the best driving/ownership experiences on the market. If you shop for cars based only on price/power, then you'd never understand leading edge performance. ps most of us already have the house paid off before we dive into expensive cars... just sayin'
