i read that audi were developing a 1000hp rally car in 86 but i didn't know they actualy built one. This must be the rarest rally car ever. Awesome.

TRL Axeman as rare as all the other group s cars. the RX7's a wierd design, looking like a RS200 from the front, then you go to the side and realise it's doorframe and roofline are from a FC RX7 :D

Ben Wilson wrong, the audi group s prototype debuted with 1000hp, look it up. the 5 cylinder turbo motor was far more decked out that the group b engine version which had 700+hp

It was the obvious way to go with Group S, Ford knew that, and so did Audi. In terms of design it actually reminds me of the Rondeau LM cars.

Audi didn't even knew this car existed untill they found out and ordered the prototypes to be destroyed. Gumpert (who kept one prototype hidden away) designed the car.

Not really! This car for 1 weighed 750kg so would not have been able to compete in any shape or form until it reached the minimum 960kg. This was a prototype with hastily set up suspension to run in this event. The Bosch motronic was limiting the car to 5500 rpm (at the request of Audi Sport)
