My July 2021 Q4 40 was upgraded last week too and I made a trip down the M3 to Southampton (about 75 miles) at the weekend. It seemed to consistently show better consumption than recent experience (by 0.3-0.4 miles/kWh) in both directions when using the adaptive cruise control set to 75mph (several roadworks to slow things down as well though). Not had a chance to do further investigation on the real range though. Overall really enjoying the changes in the upgrade.

Hi mate. I'm new to audi and am considering to get my q4 soon. Do you have to pay for software upgrades or how is the process for that? Cheers
@PaulSeagers Жыл бұрын
@@danilopineda8428 , Hi at the moment all the updates are free as is the mobile connectivity. I think that there is some speculation that Audi may tie the updates to your Audi connect licence, which we get for free up to the first 3 years I believe and then have to pay for this, but don't think this is confirmed yet.

The YT algorithm stopped showing your video's, but now mine has been delivered at the dealer I remembered and checked if you had some new stuff. Probably the 3.2 will be in the car from the start so I won't be able to compare it to the old version. Can't wait to pick it up, but still running through are company procedures to get my current car ready for return.

I've had a few examples of this too. Especially on longer trips where I drive sensibly Example.... 100% charged at the start of the trip...after 45 miles still had 304 range. Potentially just under 350 miles for a 316 range car (I have an image of the virtual cockpit to show this)

Helloo there .. i charged my new q4 40 for first time till 80% abd it show that i have range just 290km is this normal because it look like very low range for me
@edinreviews10 ай бұрын
It’s very dependent on weather, driving style and how much heating you use. At this time of year I get about 230 miles (365km approx) from 100% charge so 290km seems about right.

@@edinreviews thanks for answer Aedin .. i live in ukraine so i think weather here close to you .. is it normal to charge till 100% because i have private garage with max charge power of 4kw/houre
@edinreviews10 ай бұрын
@@abadtahir3975 Audi recommends limiting the charge to 80% to preserve battery life but I think this is mostly for rapid charging. I charge to 100% fairly often but only on slow chargers so I think you’ll be fine doing the same.

@@edinreviews thanks Aiden .. i think like this too so i will listen to your advice and charge it till 90%

I have 96% battery yet it’s only saying I will get 180 miles which seems rubbish! Any tips or reasons why this is the case?
@edinreviews Жыл бұрын
The range is based on your most recent driving. If you have had the heating on a lot and averaging a lower miles per kWh the estimated range will drop. As you drive it constantly adjusts so the estimated range may go back up🤔
@chrismurray3198 Жыл бұрын
@@edinreviews we are planning a longer trip in the next week so hoping the range will increase on it!
@edinreviews Жыл бұрын
@@chrismurray3198 if you can use the heated seats to keep you warm rather than the heater, or pre-heat the interior before taking the car off a charger that will make a difference 🤞🏻

I don’t have drive way, is it easy to live with electric?
@edinreviews Жыл бұрын
It depends on what chargers are available locally. We have two EVs and no charger at home or at work so all our charging is done locally. 90% of our charging is done on a free “fast charger” (11kW). There’s one a five min drive from our house and one that about an 8 min walk from my work. Most of the rest is done on a similar charger at our local leisure centre. It’s 35p/kWh but it’s 1 min walk from the house. We tend to charge for hours at a time at times when the cars would be sitting idle anyway. Have a look at Zapmap or ABRP and see what is available in your area 👍🏻

How are u getting 306 miles range?
@edinreviews Жыл бұрын
It’s not usually as high as that, normally it’s 280-290 miles max on a full charge. That week the weather had warmed up so I didn’t need heating, but it wasn’t warm enough to need air conditioning so the HVAC was running pretty much as a fan using very little power. Everything else was the same as a normal commuting week for me - a mix of 60mph and 30mph roads with traffic. Average 4.4m/kWh that week, but it was a one off lol
