I have filmed this great Audi R10 TDI, a Le Mans winner, which was driven by Tom Kristensen, Alan McNish and Rinaldo Capello. Turn up the volume and listen to 5.5 liter V12 pushing on track!

That’s the way it’s supposed to be. Black smoke is wasted power and a good tuner is able to limit if not eliminate it altogether.

While you are correct, just know that it’s only clean because of the dpf system Audi installed on the r10 engines, that had to be thrown away after every race because it was so packed full of soot. Without the dpf this thing would smoke like a freight train. The dpf is also the reason it is so quiet.

cause “performance mods” usually done on roadcars are done without proper knowledge. diesel engines are cleaner than gasoline ones, but they have to run right. gasoline engines have a more lenient operating window

@@heinrich5758 Unknown. When Audi launched this car, they had no test equipment to accurately measure torque well above 1000 Nm.

Yes, that Porsche is 991 GT America, the loudest Porsche I've ever heard. Much louder than Cup version, which is already pretty noisy.

People saying it’s quiet but you have to love that diesel whistle and the turbo. Absolutely beautiful. I’ve always wanted someone to make a tri turbo diesel like that one that company makes for the McClaren.

Its not beautiful, the whistle is the turbo, the actual motor sounds shit, like every turbo diesel ever built.😅 this car got us prepared for mpre shit motorsport sound, like v6 turbo hybrid modern f1 and formula e.

I Reem seeing these in person they year they debuted in ALMS. You'd hear the scream of the Porsche RS Spyder, the thunder of the Corvette C6R, then the quiet whoosh of the R10, though it would only be behind the other two as it lapped them.

Audi must make a hypercar as a tribute to this hypercar, with a 932BHP V12 engine that runs on renewable diesel HVO, a rival for the Valkyrie, AMG, LaFerrari and Delage D12. 🏎️♻️ PD: I hope that Audi and more brands, specially Stellantis and Volkswagen Group that control a lot brands, take account biofuels, green hydrogen and e fuels as help to the environment, not only bioelectricity. 🙏🏻♻️

Low rev sound pleasantier, like a muscle car. The higher the revvs, the more you need to fine-tune them to get a right musical mote. Like the way it's harder to tune high strings.
