@@groundkramer the golf r's definitely do not make more than 300whp from factory. It's not underrated like the gti is but that's due to 4 motion awd compared to fwd which has less drive terrain loss. So the stock BHP numbers from the golf r are pretty much the whp figures and the gti reads about 5-15 hp higher depending on the type of dyno (mustang, dynapack, dynojet)

I'm guessing that Audi reduced the RS3 launch due to similar new EU laws, the 2015 car launches at far higher revs and boost, that slingshot effect seems to be more sedate now.

The 2015-2016 RS3 has the older engine with 367 hp. The 2017-2018 RS3 has the new engine with 400 hp but without those nasty opf-filters, so they are the fastest. It would be interesting too see if this 2019 "400" hp RS3 can even beat one with 367 hp, I'm not so sure...

You should really use something else then a count down via walkie-talkie, especially when it’s this close in performance. The first race from 50mph is obviously to Matts favour as he says ”go” out of rythm and floors it when he knows he will call it. The second race, Matt actually says ”go” slower than the initial rythm, which makes the RS3 anticipate the ”go” and results in an earlier launch. A central countdown with a fixed rythm shouldn’t be that hard to fix..

What great maths on display here. Golf R costs £36k ,the RS3 costs £46k, mountune upgrade costs £1,200 but somehow that equals over £12k difference between mountune Golf R and RS3???? This race was pointless. The RS3 has perceived 100hp less in Comfort mode and they didn't even use launch control. I mean what's the point of this? I got a 2019 RS3 Sportback with OPF, it does 0-100kph in 3.8 seconds and the quarter mile in 11.9 seconds (both measured with dragy).

Never saw a chanel as bad as this one about cars, this dude don’t know how to drive in all videos i never saw 2 cars doing same start or same driving always one who is clearly drunk look how the R start with launch controle but the RS3 start with just full feet in the gass. All statistics are not true il lots of videos. So for me you choose who win and its all about money and view 👎🏻👎🏻

@@brucewayne2397 between us it is only me who had both of them, no difference, overal rs3 handling is better. May be you tried old one before restyle, I heard that one was much worse, restyle one has 40 kg lighter engine

@@Alex-ls6wl iv owned one but only driven the other, r was stage 1 and rs3 was stock so similar performance.. rs3 felt heavier around bends which would make sense as it is the heavier car, i understand audi want to improve things and no doubt newer will be improved then older models but you cant change physics and heavier is heavier and when you see a bend technology can only do so much to stop understeer when that extra weight is pushing on you. They are both fwd cars that use the back tyres when haldex decides so basically front wheel drive and as you know front wheel drive and extra weight is a no no. Its the same reason the car above with much less power won the reason being weight. Weight ruins everything both on straights and bends.

@@brucewayne2397 from your logic golf r should be faster than GT-R ) I actually changed golf r to rs3, rs3 much better car in all aspects, it is much faster on strait, it is better handling, it is much nicer inside, only thing in there is no hatches in North America, I repeat I heard a lot of bad about pre restyle, engine was mach heavier and it had less hp,, so may be you made your conclusion by old one, restyle one no comparable better than golf r

Dont need to. My 2016 RS3 had a £400 map and decat and is now 450bhp. So 90bhp extra for £400. It made a difference thats for sure

Did he say 46 grand for the RS3?? Id get the pre-facelifted one, ive seen them priced at around 33 grand, still expensive but 13K cheaper than new. You could put a bit of money into tuning it and it would still be cheaper than the new car and faster too

it's basically the same thing. one of many points being nearly the entire Audi vw range uses the same steering wheel. yes but an rs7 and have this Scirocco steering wheel. lmao.
