I have one of these, it’s a perfect platform for tuning. It’s not very exciting (apart from the engine) in stock, but once you stiffen the chassis with the braces, throw ball joints + Ohlins R&T in the suspension + sway bars - it becomes a proper body that matches the drivetrain (+ all the necessary drivetrain inserts/mounts). Also, JHM Stage 2 is a must for this engine! The only real downside is its weight and its distribution. Macan is built on this platform and they’re still selling it - isn’t it a succuss?! And thanks to the genius of Walter de Silve this b8 design is timeless.

in every terms actually,it is better. the rs5 b8 on every circuit from this world had a better time around track,including the nurburgring,which is the most popular. 0-200 much faster,brakes are just better,like every audis..and myth with the engine in the front of the axle..they really think that is something,like the engineers are not engineers,are some childs who designs cars..mindfuck.

@jdeejaxGmbH True. And the RS5 in EuroV8 had many penalties for being so fast on the track. It had over 100 horsepower less than the strongest competition (C63 AMG) and weighed with penalty ballast about 200 kg more than the M3 and about 150 kg more than the C63. In addition, it had a raised rear suspension to worsen handling and narrower tires than the competition. And still on a track with a lot of corners it simply dominated! This clearly shows the advantage of quattro on the track. And you can't blame the driver because in this series everyone was a professional driver.

I love those cars, last generation of true machinery designed by enginers and not accountants. Only thing i need to point is that this rs5 has pretty "weird" config, i mean it misses B&O audio, it has only 1-zone AC instead of typicall 3-zone, no dead field sensors on mirrors etc., so someone went pretty poor when buying this one becouse most of s/rs have almost every option available

I have the same car model and you are right it has all features like B&O, dead field sensors, cruise control with radar etc. I also upgraded multimedia system with panoramic touch screen and carplay. With modded exhaust and some tasteful visual tuning this car is really nice.

@@vab120 i get your points, but let's be real, rs5 is not meant to be fast on corners etc. they're built for comfy cruising and enjoyment (sporty GT), if someone really wants emotions of driving with a lot of engangment they choose some track weapon like megane 3 rs, built e36, evo etc. where you have nothing but raw drive

14:00 This reminds me of my RS5, it was unbearable loud inside at full throttle, like it was by far the loudest car inside that i ever owned, a C63 with a decat and mid resonator delete was 5x quieter inside. But outside not much with the Titanium or OEM Exhaust, but inside it was just as loud as in the cockpit of a prop plane, when i got the Capristo it was outside as loud as inside but the part i linked above pretty much showed how big the difference between outside and inside sound is, its a anomaly in the automobile world, usually its completely the other way around where inside its quiet and outside loud. And no they did not use soundgenerators at this platform.

Yes, same engine block as R8 v10 version but with chopped two cylinders. R8 v8 was different engine with less power and lower rpm 🦧

Ik heb zelf een 2012 B8.5 S5. Die V6 met supercharger is echt een geweldige motor! De auto rijdt heerlijk en ik gebruik hem ook gewoon voor woon werk. Met glas midden demper klinkt hij ook geweldig, al heb ik die zelf niet.

Loved mine a lot but got exhausted having it at the shop or tow truck too often and so had to let it go. It was my 2nd one. Had a 14 Nogaro (1 of 7) and 15 Daytona with headers, flywheel, downpipe, akrapovic, x pipe. Lots other mods. Sounded amazing at 8800rpm.

You guys see 8k rpm in a 2010 audi and drool, when civic vti had the same rpm in 1991and 160 hp from 1.6 lt, aka the same power output. Feel free to flame, facts are facts. However, if i was ever to buy a vag, it would only be n/a and a relatively old model like this. Their turbo engines burn oil like potato fryers, totally unreliable
