Just fyi the red and black wires from the back up camera are for power and ground for the camera itself. you can wire it to the reverse lights for a switched power or wire it to constant power if the radio supports it. No hate, I just work at my dads business so we do mods like this all the time

I have the same system installed on my 2009 Audi Q5. It doesn’t show the oil leaves and the temperature on the dashboard screen, only showed oil 0 L and temperature -64c . any suggestions please? Thx.

@@lukedai8724 In order for the car stats to work, you need to have their obd port dongle so it can communicate with the car, otherwise the radio has no communication with the cars stats, only the modules and computers the factory radio controlled

Hi man! Thank you for the video! I got pretty much the same system for my a5 2015 Multimedia radio. But I can’t make the radio work. The oem system doesn’t allow me to select the aux audio. Is that why you used that vcds? I never used something like that. Would you mind elaborate a bit more on what i need to buy in order to access that vcds screen? Thank you so much! Btw I’m in West Palm Beach South Florida. Are you close by?

You do need a Vcds vagcom (uses computer ) or a obd eleven (uses mobile phone)

Hey, did this come with a harness/cable to plug the hazard warning light in? I just got a UK A5 with a similar head unit and my hazard light (the aftermarket one) isn't plugged into anything it just had like 6 copper pins... think the guy that instealled it before lost a cable or skipped a step??>

Yes if you got this kit pre-owned or used then we have the button and wire missing for the hazards lights. By contacting the support team from whom made this product, like RSNAV team, they might be able to send you th missing piece you need for a small cost.

Probably the application is the issue, maybe oil & gas sensor is not compatible/or can't communicate with the application... Unless the issue is the application itself or a setting issue.

I personally prefer VCDS because not only is it easier for me but I can do any advanced changes with no issue too. There probably is a way to do it correctly via VCDS but like I said, try to troubleshoot using your originally factory long coding code

Can I ask, did you have any issues getting the factory interface to be displayedon the new RSNAV screen? All I get is 'no signal' whenever I press the 'car' icon on the new screen. Super frustrating.

The no signal is an "Ignition only shut off timer" meaning if you are running your car on battery power only & the engine is not running about after a min the radio music & screen turns off, for example. But another example is if you start the car and you still get that no signal, then it must be a lose connection in the wiring harness or the LVDS cable is not plugged it correctly, also make sure it matches up to the correct color coded plugs.

I never had any issues, just double check everything, hopefully nothing was shorted out in the process, make sure you worked this whole radio process with the battery disconnected.

Hey y’all I have this head unit on my car and I unplugged the battery to reset Limp mode and I heard a loud pop and my speakers aren’t working does anyone know where the fuse is for the head unit I’ve replaced the fuse for the amp

Fuses for a b8/b8.5 a4 for example, radio/amp would be in the rear left side of the trunk, open the rear left compartment cover next to the tail light. I believe you'll find the corresponding fuses there. A simple google search of your vehicle model & year plus "fuse diagram" . Will help you locate what you need, to troubleshoot. As for the radio, i believe some radios have a fuse on the rear of the unit, i doubt yours has that.

Check your car for "shorts to groud", and also use audi specific obd disgnotics scanner to read each module of the car. It'll give you an idea on how to troubleshoot your car more efficiantly

Thank you for your support! Well my issue since I don't have an engine installed yet, I won't be able to have the rear camera fully operational as the car has to be on & in reverse. I'm not able to get the rear camera to show up in ignition on mode. But theoretically, you'd need to go into the RSNAV UI Radio settings & make sure your correct setting for the reverse camera are set correctly. Once I have my engine installed & have my project car running, I will go further in depth with this.

Make sure the LVDS (MMI screen) cables are plugged into the correct color coded slot as well as clipped on all the way in. Your MMI screen should display if your installation steps were completely like mine, make sure all the wires are properly seated in place
