Used engine oil: amzn.to/1x7uy6n (not for longlife interval).
The engine shoult have operating temperature while changing oil. Caution: Hot engine oil!
The oil filter and oil drain plug (with seal ring) have to be renewed. Make sure the valve on the oil filter housing is not splined before you mount it. Before you mount the engine casing, check the engine not to leak out. Make sure there is enough oil in the engine before you start it the first time after oil chance.
For the oil change you need following tools:
36mm (not 32mm, it was a mistake!) and 19mm socket wrench (for oil filter and oil drain plug); torx wrench T25, T30 and T45 (for the engine casing), drain hose: amzn.to/1zIOBG4.

Here's a tip: if you're using that drain tool open the filter cover just a bit to allow air to get in. There's a reason oil isn't flowing out that tube. Tip #2: don't bother with that tube of lifting the vehicle, the filter housing is accessible from the top and just get a firm grip on it and spin.

@danielfl.9347 8 жыл бұрын
WaveCeptor Well we just changed our oil from Shell 10/40w for Castroll 5/30W - which is recommended. I can feel a difference when the car starts up in the cold, so on that way the viscosity of the oil sort of plays a role on how the engine runs.
@WaveCeptor22
@WaveCeptor22 8 жыл бұрын
+Daniel San Yes, 5w30 ist thiner as 10w40 at cold temperatures.
@vitaltrina
@vitaltrina 6 жыл бұрын
in cold weather it is better to use a 5w or even 0, helps to move the oil easier. If you're tunned I recommend upgrading to a 5w40 oil, it will keep viscosity a little better for higher tempers and abuse. In my golf R stage 2+ I use motul 8100 xcess and it works wonders in 5w40, I had to install a oil cooler for track purposes but that's another story :)
@danielfl.9347
@danielfl.9347 6 жыл бұрын
quim paredes I have kept going with 5W/30 507.000 from Castrol. The engine does not use any oil (TSI) and is due for a new oil change after around 8-9.000 kms.

Hello I have question. When you use adapter/extenion with torque wrench will it affect the torque ? For example I have torque wrench 3/8" and want to use adapter to 1/2" then add an 25 cm extension ? Should I still use 25 Nm or more ? Oil filter on Passat B6 is in such place you have to use extension.
